Hello! I found this site while browsing the WotC player classifieds. I'm a D&D fanatic who's been going through game withdrawal ever since transferring universities to be closer to home (the NOVA/DC area). I haven't played a regular tabletop D&D game in ... too long! I'm hoping I can find a regular weekend gaming group on this site. I like almost any genre as long as it's D&D -- I tend to stick to 3.5 but I'd be willing to try 4e if anyone has a preview campaign going. My experience is fairly extensive in FR but I also have some Greyhawk (ToEE) and Eberron experience. I enjoy roleplay hugely in a campaign but I'm also a fan of tactical D&D combat where I can get it -- 5 foot step and full attack ftw! Flail-using, trip-crazy dwarves ftw! I guess where I'm going with this is that I'm looking for a campaign with a large amount of roleplay that still offers the opportunity for combat once in a while =).

Interestingly, the "what referred you to this site" pulldown menu during registration has in turn referred me to a world of D&D player-matching sites, haha. I intend to register at Meetup.com in the hopes that between that site and this I'll soon find a regular game or two. Cheers!

Hello and welcome. Good luck in your search for a game. I have been on the Meet-up.com site and have never had much luck with it. It seems that most of the people listed on it are extremely old listings. I like this site best, because while I wait to find players, I can read the board posts and get to "talk" with other gamers.

Welcome to the community! For finding players the Player Registry (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/memberlist.php) is an invaluable tool and for recruiting players as a DM the Campaign Invitations (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17) forum is perfect. Please join us in on any of the various topics being discussed in the forums. For best results taking the initiative to contact players in your area should greatly increase your chances of finding others to game with. Many players are in groups that have openings but since they aren't the GM they don't go out of their way to recruit new players for the game. I wish you the best of luck in finding gaming bliss in the near future.
