My name's Justin, in the north Dallas TX area, and I'm brand new to roleplaying. I fell in love with the concept when I read Shamus Young's blog (http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=290) chronicling a D&D 3.5e campaign of his own. I really wanted to be at that table -- trouble is, none of my friends are into D&D, so I joined up here to see if I can find someone to hang out with and roll some dice.

I definitely want to play D&D, but I'm open to other tabletops as well, especially in the d20 system. I want a taste of the full spectrum of the game, from true roleplaying, bribing guards and negotiating with kings, to hack 'n slash rollplaying, lopping off goblins' heads for XP and beating the Big Bad Evil Guy.

Edit Hah, I didn't realize it actually assigned a level and class. Okay, make that Level 0, not 1. :D

Welcome aboard! If you have any questions or concerns about gaming, we would be happy to help on the forum boards. Be sure to check the player registry and campaign invitations sections as there are many Texas area gamers around.

Good luck.

Welcome to the community! For finding players the Player Registry (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/memberlist.php) is an invaluable tool and for recruiting players as a DM the Campaign Invitations (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17) forum is perfect. Please join us in on any of the various topics being discussed in the forums. For best results taking the initiative to contact players in your area should greatly increase your chances of finding others to game with. Many players are in groups that have openings but since they aren't the GM they don't go out of their way to recruit new players for the game. I wish you the best of luck in finding gaming bliss in the near future.
