Check out this new article from the Daily Illuminator that Steve Jackson Games posted:

January 12, 2008: Bonus Illuminated Site of the Week: So, R U R Man? (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/archives.html?m=January&y=2008&d=12)

http://www.sjgames.com/ill/illsotw/img/illogo2.gif (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/illsotw/) And you thought history had given up all its secrets. Witness the marvel of a bygone age in Boilerplate (http://bigredhair.com/boilerplate/). Read about the original mechanical man and his adventures across the globe. Built in the late 19th century, he's the Forrest Gump of the explorers' set - and he has a website to prove it.

Just screams for someone to check out GURPS Robots (http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/Robots/) and GURPS Steam-Tech (http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/steamtech/), doesn't it? Yeah.

Is this for real? I read the first half of the Boilerplate page (http://bigredhair.com/boilerplate/) and I can't tell. If its fiction, its good fiction :D

Of course its real. The Victorian age was famous for its robots.

That there is even a question, I blame on the deplorable state of history education in this country. I mean so many children today can't even name the dates of the First Mars Invasion in 1898 or the second in 1938!
