A random room from The House.

3f) Museum: Night Gallery -- (40x70 15' ring) Exhibits of art and nature are placed about this room. Many of the paintings show disturbing images. 23 works of "art" line the walls. One is a Phoenix Egg on a pedestal.
Near the door a handless clock ticks. 10 couples are looking the art over. They are dressed as seen in other rooms. "Empire era" type clothing. They are frozen in a time stop about the room. If the clock is stopped they will fight the intruders. Nothing in the room can be moved until the clock is stopped.

Treasure: Time stop clock. When the pendulum is started the clock stops time for everything and everyone in that room. It must be used indoors. Only the starter is immune to the effect.
22 works of art.
1: Painting, "Fate of the Heretics" a scene of four people burning. Lovingly realistic to the point you can almost feel the heat.
2: Marble: "The Maiden" A stunningly beautiful Elven nude. She poses shyly for the artist. Weighs 1000 pounds. No, it is a carving.
3: Painting; "Abba (the Mad) Kaballa" Deadman stare from the canvass. He is crushing a rabbit in his hands. You can see the pain and terror in its eyes.
4: Painting "Battle of Mordon Pass" Miniaturist detail on a giant battle canvass. Every disemboweling lovingly rendered.
5: Phoenix Egg The egg is encased in a near indestructible sphere in which it is floating. A dispel magic will remove the sphere, DC 22.
6: Painting "Lady Ellen Abba" Typical formal lady of the house painting, except the lady is nude and in bondage.
7: Pixie A stuffed Pixie in a bell jar.
8: Painting "The Hunt" Lords and ladies all. Glowing eyes, horns, and other devilish features predominate. All the horses are Hell horses and the dogs Hell hounds. It smells faintly of Alacca.
9: Marble "Motherhood" A clothed woman nurses an infant. This is a half sized piece. The infant is a skeleton, the woman stares blankly. 500 pounds.
10: Painting "Master Abba Barthangrin" Young man in formal dress at his lessons. The book on the table is upside down.
11: Unicorn Head. A "stuffed" unicorn head. It wears a collar of life preservation and is quite alive. The head is spiked to the plaque.
12: Painting "Lord Abba Pendagar" An equestrian piece. The Lord is in armor and it looks like it was done right after a battle. There are three heads hanging from his saddle.
13: Bronze. "Youth" A beautiful young man in the nude. His remains are inside the hollow statue.
14: Painting "Abba Ararabrand" Man of the house painting. There are fifty seven dogs in the picture.
15: Stone "Sorrow" The stone is a four inch round stone of Jet. Anyone touching it will be attacked with a psionic emotion attack of sorrow at +15. It will tear you apart for 1d20 minutes. This will work even with the time stop in place.
16: Painting "After the Harvest" A large canvass of people at a harvest feast. It looks to be by the same painter as Battle of Mordon Pass. People are doing everything they do at harvest feasts. It has spots of pure porn.
17: Marble "Swan" A excellent carving of a swan raising its wings.
18: Painted limestone carving "Quezoquolotal" A low relief of the feathered serpent. There is a light coat of soot over the whole slab and the left upper corner is clearly burned. A survivor of the Holocaust. This is a wall hanging.
19: Bronze "Victor" A man armored for pit fighting stands weary and worn looking. The sword hangs loose in his hands.
20: Painting "Lady Calendee Abba" Lady of the house painting. If the woman looked any sharper you would cut yourself on the image. The two children in the painting look scared.
21: Marble "His Worship Abba Pendigast" A bust of a very fat man in very tight vestments.
22: Painting "Death" A pale Elven woman in a plain sleeveless gown holds a rose. Dead people fill the rest of the canvass.

Sounds like a good example of what the mood of the house is.

A few questions:
1) If the Time Stop stops time for all, how would the players enter the room? Wouldn't they be frozen in time too as soon as they entered?
2) What is md in your stat blocks. Psi? Psionic power points?
3) Would your players have the patience to look at all the paintings and sculptures? I know that mine start getting antsy after 10 minutes without some kind of attack roll :)
4) A Phoenix egg? Like there is a live phoenix inside it if the players open the sphere?

A few questions:
1) If the Time Stop stops time for all, how would the players enter the room? Wouldn't they be frozen in time too as soon as they entered?

Good question, and something I didn't make clear. The time stop only works on those in the room when the clock is started, sans the person that starts the clock. So if someone comes in later they are not affected unless someone stops and restarts the clock.

In play this is what happened. They stopped the clock to get the Phoenix egg. Everything started moving. Hagitha the Magican shouted for someone to grab the egg, one hell of a fight was going on, and she restarted the clock. Everyone in the room froze. The fight had spilled into the hall and that kept going. She stopped the clock again as several party members and the egg were still in the room.

2) What is md in your stat blocks. Psi? Psionic power points?

I use a home brew Psionics system. Psi is the psionics stat, 1-20. The higher the more psionic ability you have, 1-8 is non-psionic. The +x after the number is the character's mental defense bonus. It goes up by level. MD is Mental Defense, just like Armor Class, but for the mind. A Psionically active character would have a psionic attack bonus and a power point total after the defense bonus Psi 12 +12/+6-34. That would indicate a character with a Psionic rating of 12. A mental defense bonus of +12. A psionic attack bonus of +6, and 34 power points to spend on psionic abilities.

3) Would your players have the patience to look at all the paintings and sculptures? I know that mine start getting antsy after 10 minutes without some kind of attack roll :)

Yes, if they didn't also try and haul every stick and canvas out as treasure. The art can have meaning and might be a clue you need later. They look, examine, and pry off the wall and or floor.

4) A Phoenix egg? Like there is a live phoenix inside it if the players open the sphere?

Yes in fact. However the egg requires the dawn to activate it. The best way to describe a Phoenix is a link to the description. (http://phoenixinn.iwarp.com/fantasy/avian.htm)

I definitely like the paintings. In The Maze of Zayne series by Necromancer Games / Rob Kuntz, there are many similar paintings many with magical effects. I had to add a few extra because I liked the idea so much.

Art is a major deal in The House and yes, many of the pairtings, statues, and other objects DO something. Sometimes you need what they do, some times you really really don't. Other times, well, it's different, but livable with.

That is a first level room.
