Hello all,

I am joining this list because I am involved in role-playing games. Currently I am moderating a (free) play-by-web game that is of the genre space-fantasy-opera. Think Traveler mixed with Lovecraft and a big heap of Charles Stross.

I used to be a professional programmer, but I quit work to be the full-time caregiver for my ill wife. So on-line activities are most of my social life. :)

If anybody wants to see the game, the forum (actually software I designed myself specifically for on-line asynchronous role-playing) is at http://enerd.ws/gt/ (use name and password "guest").

My tastes in fiction run from old and new science fiction and fantasy to mysteries to the occasional fantasy disguising a trashy romance. ;)

Have a nice day.

Welcome to the community. I hope your interest here is more than a shameless plug for your website lol. Just out of curiosity, what kind of online software do you use to conduct your play by web games? Is it PBP, PBE, or a full client like Klooge?

Sorry for the shameless plug, but the software is interesting. I would guess it's an asynchronous play-by-post. It includes discussion forums, messaging, and a participant-centered glossary (if you're character doesn't know that X is really Y, that gloss doesn't appear in the glossary for you).

It was written by myself, for myself, back when I worked for a computer-based education unit at Penn State. It was an attempt to write something like this on sound educational grounds, but I never fully finished it. It needs a newsletter-based output so that people can see what others have done when they've finished their segments.

I don't like to do synchronous gaming over the internet because I find it more interesting when players don't realize who are player characters and who aren't.

If you are looking for players for your online game, I'd also suggest you post (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=17) in the Campaign Invitations (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17) section with more details about your game, so someone browsing that section can find your PBP.
