In Inn-Fighting, if the defense die has rolled an ale or luck and later a defense roll is required, what happens to the original ale or luck on the defense die? Does it go away having been forced to be re-rolled, or does it revert back to its prior icon?

I haven't looked at "Inn-Fighting." What exactly does this have to do with D&D advice?

I don't know that I've ever heard of it. Other than fighting in the 'Inn of the Dragon's Head'. I think it's an Unearthed Arcana or 4.0 thing.

Well, it is a dice game. Supposedly an in-character dice game for your D&D game. But, I submit to you, if the little dice game the characters are playing in-character is actually complicated enough to warrant people having to ask questions about it, it's too complicated to muddy the waters of my game.
