Private messaging in public messages

I suggest we need selectively viewable messages, so that for example, I can include a message just to an individual or small group of users inline on the board without going separately to the PM dialog.

These messages would be viewable by the mods, of course, and subject the same ruleset as the openly viewable messages. Mostly, I have seen this type of messaging on dedicated roleplay boards, but I think it would be extremely useful and fun to have here as well.

Would this be akin to our 'buddy list'? And the subsequent folder that pops up when you have buddies?

More like You look funny in those tights :) invisible text in a message that's public to everyone else, and it wouldn't be restricted to people on our buddy lists (which I admit I've been intending to make better use of.). It could show up in a quote box or be a different color.

Oh that's a sweet idea.

I'd totally hate to mistype something though. Like:

Some days I feel like that Axe body spray isn't working out for you eating cup cakes.

And ultimately, since there is no Phishy, then everybody and their dog will know that your body spray to women is like garlic to vampires.
