March 24, 2018: Happy With My Tesla (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/a/2018-03-24)

*** I've been driving my Tesla Model S since March of 2013 (here's my original post (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/archive/March_28_2013/Steve_Gets_A_Model_S_Fnord)). I'm still a very happy camper. This is the best car I have ever had. After five years, it's still a thrill to drive. It's ghostly quiet, has incredible handling and acceleration, is comfortable .*.*. and I don't have to buy any stinky gas for it.

** *It rarely has problems of any sort, and when something does come up, the Tesla service center is friendly, accommodating, and fast. Sometimes, I can get a fix just by phoning them and following instructions. And most everything except tires is covered under the initial warranty. When it's is in the shop, they provide a Tesla loaner, which a couple of times has been a brand new version even hotter than mine. The biggest expense I've had in five years has been to fix an ugly little dent from some idiot opening their door into me in a parking lot. Total number of REAL issues? Zero.

** *When I have a lot to carry, it's the next best thing to a pickup. It got used like a pickup after the flood that took my old house in South Austin, and it performed like a champ. Put down the back seat and the cargo space is huge. Open the front trunk, where most cars have an engine, and look! More space!

** *My point? Simple. If you've been thinking about this car, I can unreservedly recommend it. Tesla (http://www.tesla.com) has given me five years of great driving and great service, and I'm happy to give some payback by talking about it. (If you are considering getting one, feel free to write with questions.)
