Community Calendar Updates and More...

I am presently working on some changes to the community calendar, and as a result, you will temporarily not be able to see events occurring in areas other than your own. You will see be able to see events within 50 miles of your location normally.

Also, you will now have the ability to be notified by email when new events are coming up in your area. If you don't want to receive email notifications of this type, or you only want to receive notifications for events posted for groups you belong to, then you may change your settings by going into the User CP (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/usercp.php) -> Edit Options (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions) area and look for the new notification setting, "Local Event Notifications."

I see the news bot posted an event for the Plano group. That's cool.

Aye, the news bot now has the ability to read calendar feeds in the iCal format (like the ones used at meetup.com) and automatically add those to our calendar with their geocoded location information. I'm also going to be working on setting up an RSS feed from our calendar so that other sites can pull events for a specific location and radius, OR you could add it to a news aggregator if you use one.
