View Full Version : SWSE: Redde's Custom Modifications and Upgrades

So, I was planning to do a few blog posts and uploads regarding some homebrew and customization for the Star Wars Saga Editon game system, but i do not have access to that feature yet. I decided to just create a thread with one or three of my customization's. There were a few assumptions I made regarding upgrades and traits:


unlimited time
unlimited credits
the mechanic has the Superior Tech feat
mechanic has military clearance and access to all sorts of military gear to upgrade and sell to those with the proper papers
Redde's also has a... backroom, for the more discreet sales.


I also inserted the code for those wanting use the bbCode here or on other sites that take bbCode. Feel free to comment, suggest, criticize (constructively :p), or just to give some general feedback. This is my first real attempt at customizing in hopes of bringing my son back to tabletop gaming. I plan on making TONS of misguided mistakes, but hope to have some of you help me out with feedback. The source books are:

Starships of the Galaxy
or alternatively to SotG, Web Enhancemen: Tech Specialist
and any bookor web enhancement that lists a base item to begin customization.


I tried to relate to some real-world concepts for weapons. I plan on updating the original post to add to my list of custom items, and just adding to the replys with my own comments and responses. I hope this works out! My first thought was of Dirty Harry and his hand canon! I thought what a pistol in Saga would be like.. this is what I came up with:


Redde's Hand Canon, Medium Pistol
Rate of Fire: S Stun DMG: N/A Weight: 1.5kg.
Ammo: 100 of 100 Power Source: Power Pack x2
Type: Energy Availability: Military
Cost: 8000 credits Damage Roll: 3d6+3 Attack Roll: -1
-1 ATK rolls, +1 DMG per die

Traits:Superior Tech Trait:


Superior Capacity, Scum and Villainy pg.25, The weapon's power source provides double the number of shots.


Tech Trait:


NAME, BOOK PG##, DESCRIPTION


Base Item:Blaster pistol, heavy; Core pg.126, Original cost 750
Stripped Slots:


Stun Settings, 1 slot gained
Damage stripped by 1 die step (3d8>3d6), 1 slot gained

Upgrades:
3 Upgrade Slots Available (2 from Stripped method, 1 Free)


Extra Power Source (upgrade cost:1), Scum and Villainy pg. 40, 200credits, Double the capacity of the power supply. If it runs on 1 power cell or pack, then it can house 2
Pulse Charger (upgrade cost: 10, Sucm and Villainy pg. 43, 2000credits; -1 penalty on ATK rolls,
+1 DMG per die, weapon has 1/2 (one half) the normal number of shots from a power source.
Rocognition System (upgrade cost:1), Scum and Villainy pg. 41; Weapon will not function for anyone other than its owner. Fooling the system takes 1 minute and a DC30 Use Computer check.
Its owner can deactivate system as a free action. optianally, the system can have a code phrase to allow anyone to deactivate.



Yohan Redde: "So, I expanded the power source slot to allow for double the shots, added the pulse charger for a bigger pop per shot, and also tinkered with the power output to double the amount of power per triger squeeze. I know that at farther ranges this wil be lost due to recoil, but I can garuntee you will walk away from any gambling table with at least your life."

I forgot to mention one more thing: If anyone else has some interesting upgrades themselves, please feel free to follow my lead and post it yourselves. I could even organize in the original post, a list of each persons custom gear. If you plan on creating more items, just send me a non parsed bbCode message of the item and anythng you wanted added to your section.
