Campaign Setting: The game will be played in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, and the characters will be located in the city of Almraiven in Calimshan. Other than the three core books (D&D, 3.5 edition), the only other book that may be helpful (but not necessary) is the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book. Those are the only source books I will be using, so the game will not follow the gospel according to the hundreds of novels, dozens of source books, or any video games that are out there. That being said, I will do my best to keep it as Faerunian true as possible.

Character Level: Seventh (XP=21,000).

Race, Class, Template & Alignment: Any from the core books, subject to DM approval (as is everything). If you want another race or class that is from another source, please send me some information on what it is, and why you want to play it.

Character Concept: What is your character doing in Almraiven? Include some background on your history, personality and tendencies. Who do you worship, and are you a member of any guilds or militias? Provide a description as to what you look like (body features, what are you wearing, and weapons and other items carried).

Ability Scores: 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 & 08 (equal to 38 point buy-in), before racial adjustments if any.

Bonus Feat: You may select one additional bonus feat if you choose to give your character an interesting defect, such as a significant and relevant weakness, phobia, flaw or enemy.

Starting Gold: 36,000 gold pieces, you may purchase whatever you want from the Players Handbook and DMG.

Other Rules: You must find a reason for your character to want to participate in this mission, and to reasonably get along with the rest of the group in and out of character. If you can’t do that, negative karma will find you.

Game Start: Please get me your character sheets to me as soon as possible because I may have some questions. I prefer that all character sheets are done in MS Word. I do not want faxed copies, or have to link to other websites. I’d like to start the game this Monday (June 18th). You don’t need to complete your entire character concept right away before starting.

My email is ed3b@yahoo.com

Use this thread to introduce yourself as a player, and tell us a bit about the character you will be playing. Introduce your character (in-character) in the game thread.

If you have any questions about character generation or what I will allow, ask here or send me a PM.

All characters must first be approved of by the DM (me). I am very open to different concepts, what I'm looking for is characters that will add character to the campaign.

As a note on my DMing style, it will be important for you to read carefully what I write. This will not be a vanilla campaign of hack and slash with easily identified enemies who will stand in front of you for a fair fight. There will be some hidden plots, but clues will be presented for you to identify them. Not everything will be as it first seems, there may be some traps, and some villains and monsters are intelligent too. That being said, I want everyone to survive, prosper, and enjoy themselves!

In your Character Concept I want to know the motivations and interests of your character, and some of its history. I will try to incorporate as much of that as possible into the game. I am also offering a chance for you to get an additional bonus feat. But if you select a flaw, that feat will not be an easy freebee. That flaw will come into play.

I have never DMed in a play by post game before, so please bear with me a bit. It will be a learning process for me, and maybe some of you. But we will work the bugs out eventually. This type of game has been very popular with my players in person, and I hope it works out nearly as well here to.

Thanks for your participation, good luck and good gaming!

Ed

Regarding Hit Points, max out your first level, then substitute the following amounts for each dice roll.
d4=3
d6=4
d8=5
d10=6
d12=7

For example a seventh level Druid with a Con of 14 would get 1[(d8=8)+2]+6[(d8=5)+2]=52 Hit Points.

There once was a monk from the land of Amn.
He tired of the corruption but nobody gave a damn.

So he went to the city of Almraiven as foretold.
To pursue fame and make a fortune in gold.

Hi, is it OK if I play a Monk of the Shining Hand?

Sounds good... but bad poetry is not an acceptable flaw.

Email your character sheet to me when you get a chance.

If you have any specific questions, PM me.

Update: I let Ghezryln go a tad bit over on gold spent.

Hi Ed, sorry to take so long in getting here. As I told you on Sunday I'll be rolling up some sort of arcane spellcaster to keep Ghezryln in line. I have a question, how many spells does a wizard start with in her spellbook?

Cheers...

I have a question, how many spells does a wizard start with in her spellbook?

Glad you made it Vi, I'm looking forward to the interaction between you and Ghezryln.

Regarding your wizard, you can start your spell book with one spell for each spell you can cast. I'm assuming that you will be using an LA=0 race, so at 7th level (int=20 as an example) you have the following number of spells written into your spell book:
L0: 4+2 bonus = 6
L1: 4+2 bonus = 6
L2: 3+1 bonus = 4
L3: 2+1 bonus = 3
L4: 1+1 bonus = 2

Note: The book does not give bonuses for level zero cantrips, but I reworked the chart to give them. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks Ed, just sent Vi's character sheet to you. Everything should be good to go, let me know if the character concept and the quest I was sent on are good.

Looks good Vi, thanks.

Note: Once you set your, Skills, Feats, Spells, Items, etc, I prefer that you don't change them. But I realize that once the game starts you may wish that you selected something else. I'll let you make some changes in your character up until just after the first encounter.

Note Regarding Rolls: I want the players make as many of the rolls as possible for their characters. But if you're going to be away for a while I'd like to make some of your rolls (with your permission), so the game can flow along. Just let me know if and when you'll be away, and what your characters' tendencies are (movement, negotiation, combat, down time).

Regarding Skills such as Listen, Move Silently, Spot, Sense Motive, Knowledge, etc, I may make those rolls for the character as required. Whenever a DM asks the characters to make a roll, observant players get a sixth sense feeling that something is up. Instead of asking you to make every observation roll, I'll post (or PM if you prefer) what you observed.

I'm Typhon, a half orc barbarian, originally from where you humans call Damara. I arrived in town a week ago as a hired guard with a caravan bringing goods from the Dragon Coast, from up north. Always looking for a good job (well paying) I saw the wanted poster and reward offered for the two thieves. Being that I just blew all of my gold gambling, it's time for me to go back to work at what I do best.

Hello Ed, Sorry I have been Insanely Busy. Trust me I wouldn't miss this adventure for anything. If your still open I would love to bring along Kadion, I noticed the Party lacks the charm of a bard. Kadion can still Fill any spot in the group.

Alright, In case i get to join this group lets get some introductions out of the way. Kadion is a Young Bard, he is 22 years of age, Thin with wheat colored hair that reaches his ears, he keeps the hair on the side. He is on this adventure because in order to be accepted as a true bard among his peers he needs to have a story to tell that he has lived. He wears a beautiful Suit of chainmail that looks to be made of gold. Along with a small clear stone that floats around his head. He carries with his a lute on his back, and a trident that seems to crackle in the air. on his arm is a small buckler, and a wrist strap bearing a knife. though he is young the man seems to have an air of experiance about him.

Go on over to the warehouse and introduce yourself. Sorry, but you might get a bit wet in the process.

And when you get the chance, email me Kadion's character sheet. All the parameters are listed at the beginning of this thread.

I shall be your Druid these evenings, or whatever time of day it is.

Great, this looks like a good group. Your patron will arrive (IRL) this evening to kick off the adventure (noon, game time), after the DM changes the power supply in his computer that was taken out by a power surge yesterday morning.

Oh yeah, it's a great show. It shows that women do well in positions of leadership despite the brutes around them who think they're smarter.

Have you or Ribe seen the cover of the new Drow Underdark book? The drow woman on the front cover looks like a Wraith Queen.

I get the feeling you and Jim will have lots to talk about. Me, I'm and SG1 fan. As my hubby will tell you, it's mostly because of the character Dr Daniel Jackson. The guy'll probably go to fat in a decade or two, but as for right now... hubba hubba! Though I still miss O'neill and his humor. My favorite episode of SG1 is the one where O'Neal and T'ealc is stuck in the time loop. Priceless!

Have you or Ribe seen the cover of the new Drow Underdark book? The drow woman on the front cover looks like a Wraith Queen.

I'm more of a David Weber and John Ringo fan. I'll read most Mercedes Lackey whenever they come out, but she's slowed alot since she stopped the Valdemar series. Oh, and some of the young adult series is pretty good too for a one-sit-down read.

If you haven't guessed, I'm a bookworm, true to the fold. Every book I own I've read at least 2x. Some I've replaced, and some are getting ready to be replaced (missing covers, first few pages have fallen out.)

Semaria
Tuesday 06-26-2007, 10:21 PM
Was that the episode where T'ealc was caught up in the video combat simulation? I love the references that SG-1 and SG-A make to the Star Trek shows, and even to McGuyver.

My book list is kind of on the eccentric side. I think that some scifi writers are really gifted with their imaginations.

Typhon

Typhon and I are using Ronon and Teyla from Stargate Atlantis as base personality templates for our characters.

Speaking for myself, I'm using Ronon's personality and tendencies as a starting point for Typhon. Not as a model to be strictly followed. I'm sure that at a few times in the game someone might think that "Ronon wouldn't do that".

What inspired me about two weeks ago when the Pegasus Galaxy Replicators were firing an energy ray at Atlantis through a gate from orbit, Ronon said something to the effect that he liked fighting and killing his enemies in combat, but when the city's shields were being attacked from space he was useless.

That's what Typhon is about. He wants to fight and kill his enemies up close and personal. Don't count on him to cast any spells, be fluent in lore, or decipher script. But he is not a mindless brute. He knows that most situations should be avoided without a fight, and some fights should be avoided with a run. His background is that of a paid mercenary. He earns his gold when his presence convinces an enemy that a fight would be a bad idea.

Ed Zachary
Tuesday 06-26-2007, 11:05 PM
I figured that O'Neil and Carter would get together, but that seems unlikely now. Based on the season ending shows, I'm guessing that Atlantis will wind up back on Earth, and Carter will replace Weir.

Back to the game, I just need Ribe to introduce himself at the warehouse. Anyone else who wishes to join should also make their introduction there. Those who want to join later on will have to meet the party on the road.

Kadion: How do you pronounce your name... "Kad-ion", or "Ka-dji-on"?

Kadion looks at the assembled group. So I assume this all of us. Well once again to all you lovely ladies and my good friends I look forward to traveling with you. I am Kadion Bain, a humble bard.

The man is young He is 21 years of age, he has elven features that come from his half elven blood. His pointed chin and sharp ears. His hair is long and tied in a pony tail. He has an infectious personality, his smile and laughter usually pass one to the others he travels with. He is light hearted, but wise, care free but cautious. The man is clad in Elven Chainmail that has a golden hue. The chainmail is extremly thin and light. in order to mask his armored presence he wears common clothing to fit in to a crowd. Having come from a port city, Kadion is clad in Dark red leather boots, and pants, he has a long sleaved white shirt that billows in the wind, over top of that shirt he has a dark leather vest that has metal studs on it, the studs are more for looks than armor the vest also has several knife sheaths. The outfit has a nice leather belt around its waist that holds several pouches and spell component bags. One larger bag has small areas of lighter cloth in stratigic places for air to pass through. A small ferret pops its head out of the bag ever now and again.

The bard holds A long black trident that sparks in the dark, and the in his right hand he holds a mithril sheild. on the bards back is a quiver, the quiver is normal size but you are able to see the tip of a bow sticking out of the quiver. this leads you to believe the quiver is magical in nature.

I see that as a real positive. The game has always had an image of socially awkward nerd-guys gathering in their parents basement. I like the game to resemble a story being told, where we each contribute as protagonists and the ending hasn't been written yet. Women add a richness to the story, outside a guy's perspective. That wasn't a criticism, it was a joyous acknowledgment. But I think that some of the others at that site are expressing concern at this challenge to their manhood.

Now... what are the women making us guys for lunch?

Regarding the spell Message that has been used by Vimachipal and Kadion:

It lasts for 10 minutes per level (70 minutes).

It has a range of 100+10/level (170 feet).

You can include up to one person per level (7 people).

Once cast, it is open for back and forth communication for its duration. All you need to do is point and whisper.

Note regarding ability scores and spell casting, if you have an 18 as your relevant ability you get the following bonus spells to cast daily:
L0=2, L1=1, L2=1, L3=1, L4=1

If the highest level spell you can cast is third level, your fourth level bonus spell can't be used to cast a fourth level spell. However it is not lost, you can use that bonus spell and place it into the highest level that you can cast. In other words this character would get a second bonus third level spell.

Do I need 8 hours of uninterrupted rest each day, or can I get that rest a few hours at a time here and there?

Do I need 8 hours of uninterrupted rest each day, or can I get that rest a few hours at a time here and there?

Good question. Arcane spellcasters (you and Kadion) need eight hours of rest (not sleep) per day. That could be in the form of meditation, as you are doing. I won't make you do this in one eight hour block, but each block of time must be at least an hour long, and add up to eight hours per day.

As a Wizard you also need to spend up to an hour in spell preparation time. Bards like Kadion do not need to spend any time in spell preparation. Divine spellcasters (Adara, Semaria and Sorrel) do not need to rest to regain their spells, but they do need that hour in spell preparation time (prayer or meditation).

Can I make it an outo assumption that as long as we are travelling at least an hour a day, that I make use of that time preparing the spells for the day? And do you want the spells listed in-game, or posted to you only?

I keep track of what I cast, but want to make sure of what your rules are.

Yes, if you are riding on the wagon and not driving.

And do you want the spells listed in-game, or posted to you only?

You keep track, I only need to know what spell you are casting when you cast it.

I keep track of what I cast, but want to make sure of what your rules are.

I'm fine with the players keeping track.

I'll be doing Jannys (like Janice), a Cleric who is a Disciple of Torm. Main theme/goal: Penance of Duty. That and avoid water at all costs. (ie "The Gamers").

That and avoid water at all costs. (ie "The Gamers").

Welcome Jannys, we'll be needing all the help we can get. I'm the brute, Typhon is a half orc barbarian. Sometimes I get a bit bossy because I've been a professional mercenary all my adventuring career. But I'm wise enough to know my limitations, sometimes.

Cheers Anaestesia! Or shall I call you Jannys?

As the brute above describes me, I'm the stick elf.

I prefer the name Vi, and I'm a sun elf wizardess from the Evermeet homeland.

Glad you can join us!

Greetings and welcome. I am Kadion Bain, A half-elf bard from Summerset Isle. I try to be the spokesman for the group but everyone seems to be more that apt at the job as well. (meant as a compliment not a complaint.) I also try to fill in any gaps that the group might have (though they are few, if any.)

(Yes its the same Kadion Bain with minor changes added.)

This is my furry companion (ferret) Spherius, he is trained to hunt, and perform. Again we welcome you to the party.

Wednesday morning I will post a set of events that you observe.

I will also roll initiative for all involved parties so there's no extra wait for these rolls. If I don't have all the info from everyone's character sheet I will make my best guess. If I'm off by one or two, consider it some extra dice randomization.

Once you observe the initial events, please describe you reaction to them, and your first round action. I hope to get all players to post as early as possible so I can tabulate the results and prepare for the next round.

In post #285 I described the situation as I saw it. If anyone has a different perspective please let me know tonight if possible.

Just so the players know what they're up against, here's a little hint:

The centaur, elf and halfling were created per the same guidelines that the characters were. However they do have a big advantage; they knew the characters were coming and had time to plan this trap. There are two exceptions to this...
1) The elf is a slightly higher level.
2) One magic items is over the 36,000 GP limit.

Note Regarding Divine Spells Available: Per the book you are suppose to pray or meditate for which specific spells you want for the upcoming day. To make things a bit simpler, all you need to do is request the spell slots. You can choose any spell from the list, as long as you have an open spell slot for that level spell or higher. This will benefit Adara, Jannys, Semaria and Sorrel.

This does not change the limits of spells that Bards or Sorcerers can know, or how Wizards must still select their specific spells.

OK, my confusion... I was aiming for the 2 Desert Riders in the woods, and the 1 mercenary in the woods, not on the beach... and they were fighting something in the woods. Did they finish off what they were fighting? And then run up to the beach? Only to be targeted by Typhon?? I am so confused...

Both groups were finished off. Regarding the confusion I left you with, how can I help make things clearer? I hope you don't mind that I moved the discussion to this thread.

If anyone else has any ideas, please post them.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There has been some miscommunication going on, where the DM doesn't understand completely what the players are doing, and the players are interpreting situations incorrectly. I need the players to help me out by doing the following:

1) When you post what your character is doing, be very clear about what, where, when, and with who. Re-read your post and think how it could be misread or vague to someone who's not reading your mind. Then edit it and make it even clearer.

2) After I read all your posts, I have been summing up what just happened, and then I present what the current situation is. I need you to read what I post as it is the official version of what is happening. But I'm human and make mistakes, so you need to let me know if I misinterpret what you had wrote. I check in here a few times every day.

Thank you for your cooperation.

((Ok, I made the roll late last night, so I know I was too tired to remember that, Ed. I did reroll using Kaidon's +2, and it came out higher, so if you want that roll instead, I can PM it to you.))

The rule of thumb I use is if someone like myself (middle aged office worker) could perform an action without difficulty, I won't require a roll. If it is slightly difficult for me I may set the DC=05, like riding in the mountain on a trail with wagon horses.

What I need is your skill rating for Search and Spot. I will assume that when your characters are conscious they are also alert and paying attention. Instead of calling for rolls and waiting a day for them to come in, I will make some rolls for you. Let me know if I have any of these numbers wrong.

Adara(Essyx):
Initiative: 03
Search: 01
Spot: 04

Ghezryln:

Roh(Zane):

Vimachipal:
Initiative: 03
Search: 13
Spot: 05

Tronja:

Also when making rolls, it would make my life easier if you were to use the format 8+(d20=13)=21. That way I know 8 is your skill level, 13 is your roll, and 21 is your total.

Moritz
Monday 08-06-2007, 10:14 AM

Just a balance check [DC=15] to avoid falling off the floating disk with Vi.

You may make an action this round, Vi has offered to Dimension Door you up the mountain near the Giants. If you accept, you can still cast a spell this round... like Prayer, Cure on Moadin, Divine Power on yourself, or Bull's Strength on anyone, or whatever.

Greetings all. Name is Zane and it appears I will be bringing in a new character, appearing soon on a computer screen near you.
My character is a human male specialized fighter from out of town. I know, general huh? Well, I don't want to spoil all the surprise(s) in store just yet... :p

Many of you I have met (online at least) from the Revenge of the Dragon game where Ashkore is running around acting like he knows what's going on. here, Roh (my fighter) has very little idea what going on in the big picture, so he just tries to do his best.

Let's see, some basic info - Roh, as I mentioned, is a fighter that worships Helm and acts accordingly. Basically, your semi-typical protector. He definitely knows how to handle himself in battle but prefers not to attack first. Of course, he fully intends to end any attack on him and those he protects one way or another. Well, see you all in the game.

And Ed - Roh's skill values: (Init: 06, Search: 02, Spot: 10)

I think Moadin is a Narcoleptic.

One moment he's fighting giants.

He blinks

There is something in the water. Maybe it's one of the party escaping, he's not sure. He wonders what happened to the giants.

He blinks

There are strangers walking up - new party members?

He blinks

And now there's a map and various trails.

What does everyone think... should I slow the pace of the game down?

Moritz
Friday 08-10-2007, 09:24 AM
I'm not sure that it's a speed thing. But I'm also not sure how everyone keeps up without meta-posing or power-posing. And, then again, it just may be me not used to this system.

I will note. I do get confused in all the first person point of view posing. And without the listing of action summaries, it seems that things start and finish before I see them start.

Also, I think things are missed in the spam. Like when the rock slide was going on, someone offered for Moadin to grab a stick, while someone else tossed a disk below him. I think the stick was totally overlooked by the group and by the time I was able to pose, the disk was already there and I was about to pose Moadin grabbing for the stick.

Still, I think it's just me, because you all seem to have a handle on what's going on.

And, to make it easy, I could make Moadin a narcoleptic. At least that would help make it all make sense.

Moadin-LOL!!!

Truth be told, I could post 1st thing in the morning, then come back after lunch and find that we've finished a fight, and have moved down the road. With another fight looming over us by bedtime. I actually like the frenetic pace of this game, much faster than any others I play. However, I do tend to play internet backgammon at the same time I'm playing spider solitare, and my hubby thinks I'm mad for doing so. I keep telling him it's to keep me from getting bored waiting for the other player to make thir move (which I can usually predict) and he just shakes his head.

Hey DM! Keep it up!!:o

I did not remove Ed's ability to post here. There was a user group change and I just rechecked the permissions and you definitely should be able to post and moderate this forum, Ed. If you're still having difficulty, please send me a PM.
So the game is good to continue, yay! Let the good times roll. :D

Good News for the Characters!!!

You survived this long without getting killed and made it to the ruins of the old castle above the crypt. Despite losing most of the treasure you accumulated, not once but twice, losing Tronja, losing the Evil Trident, losing Twopins, having one of you die, losing Melias and Trovius, and being trapped in a pit beneath a wrecked tower, congratulations!

As a reward you are all bumped up to Eigth Level. At fourth level you were able to bump up an Ability Score by one point, and can do so again at this level.

Please send your updated character sheets to me as soon as possible.

Kadion: You get to "know" an additional spell third level spell of your choosing. You may also forget any one spell of your chosing and replace it with another of the same level.

Vi: You do not get to automatically add any more spells to your spellbook, you need to find them.

Good News for the DM!!!

I quit my sucky job today and will start another better one after Labor day.

To celebrate, my wife and I will be leaving for vacation this Sunday night and getting back late next Sunday night.

This should give you all a chance to finish up your character sheets!

Hey - the DM says we are doing a good job! Let's keep doing the same thing now and we'll all party!

A lesser party would've been all dead, so yeah!

I decided to treat all characters equally, even the newbies, becaus I want to give everyone the same shot at contributing their unique skills in a fair manner. It's tough to DM an on-line game, and it's tough for all the players to find time too.

Good News for the Characters!!!

As a reward you are all bumped up to Eighth Level. At fourth level you were able to bump up an Ability Score by one point, and can do so again at this level.

Vi: You do not get to automatically add any more spells to your spellbook, you need to find them.

Ed - Is their guy Ikrom a Wizard or Sorcerer?

What about Ziggy? I hope one will have a spellbook.

I promise you a great story line, and some very memorable moments. All the information to get started is on the first post. I really hope you all will consider trying your hand at in the Chains.

Thanks

So yeah, the imagery I got when Moadin was off in the other tower: The party yelling out, "Curtis, are you dead?!" - as seen on the movie Maximum Overdrive.

I blink and we went from sitting around plotting on what to do, to actually being in a battle. The weekends kill me :)

Can we get an update as to what's going on, where we are, who is doing what and where?

Sure. The nine of you are in the underground room beneath the tower, and Vi is in the room above provoking the Dragon. All the Amalites are dead, and the Dragon is burning their bodies.

The Dragon has been hanging out above the tower, waiting to pick off characters dumb enough to go outside. Like Adara (took 50 hp) and Typhon (took 58 hp). It is now breathing on Vi (57 hp), who is out of claw and bite range inside the tower.

Tronja escaped the battle, and under the tower where the dragon has been making its lair. She went down a few hundred feet, and is now out of range of Vi's Locate Object spell.

Hmm... not that I don't mind taking the hit (and I don't really mind. Never got into the battle as it was,) but if you reread the posts, I edited the option to go up to wait for the burlies to scream first, before deciding on whether to go up. If you feel that this was posted too late, let me know. I had been under the assumption that Vi was ok with letting the Ravens eat the carrion. However, since she decided that burning them was a better idea, I was going to let the Ravens (assumedly still up top) know that the carcasses were ok to eat, if they wanted, after they were burnt a bit.

I didn't expect the Dragon to be sitting around, single-mindedly. Waiting to toast anyone who left the tower. When Vi warned everyone (after my initial post of going up top as well) I restated my intentions as to waiting and listening to the results.

However, there was a couple of days in between posts and updates, so the time dilation of decision-making could make it so that I went up anyways.

(shrug) Either way.

I did not have you going up the ladder with Typhon, and possibly Roh and/or Sorrel. You stated that you were following Typhon, so I went with that. The only reason the fighters went up was to carry the bodies. I don't know why Typhon looked outside, but he did, and he got burned. Unless you had a reason to go up, your staus will be waiting with the others downstairs.

The group needs a defense of your position today, and a plan of attack for tomorrow. That should be being discussed. Fighting the Dragon may be more difficult than fighting the Amalites and Demons.

The Dragon is very intelligent, and it has lived for hundreds of years. It knows tactics.

For those who are confused as to the coloring of my wording here's the legend:

PURPLE: OOC-talking to players, asking for advise, or giving apologies

ORANGE: OOC: to DM-giving info for multiple moves, or to do rolls, etc.

GREEN: In character, usually in quotes. Sometimes, just actions of my personal character, or the NPCs I control (animals, etc.)

This is my conclusion for this character, for coloring. If you play with me in other games, colors will be different, with them, for other reasons.

I never liked the title of the old class "Magic User", Wizardess is much better.

I was talking to someone at my new job last week about how I have to change my regular dnd group (the non Play-by-post) from Fridays to Saturdays. Then she replied by saying "I miss playing that, I used to be an Elf Magic User" I laughed and said "Yer old school!"

(But on the other hand she had her sons learn how to play 2.0 and I offered to let her & sons to join, but too many schedules conflict in her family alone it wouldn't have worked out)

She is undobtedly a very intelligent, civilised and honourable person of considerable skill in the craft.

Please send her my regards.

:p I'm sure she'll love to hear that. I still have to bring in my 3.5 books to show what she's missed. (And yes I'm dreading the release of 4.0 because I don't want to buy more books)

I feel the same way, I took me a while to go from version 2 to 3.0 than I really liked the 3.5 version.

I heard from several sources that they are getting rid of the Bard class and the Paladin class, and the Gnome and Half-elf.

Just a note I did see your PMs Ed, if they were absorbed after a long day of work then a 2 hour game, I have no idea. I'll just keep re-reading until in my head.

On the other hand, essyx I have no answer for you, maybe ask Ed..*shrug*

I get the feeling that we are going to end up with more casualties soon.

Since Adara is the only one who can bring Jannys, Semaria or anyone else back to life, it is important that she does not die in this fight.
