Greetings one and all!
Name's Vince, and I'm over here in Denmark after hearing about this place via the Dragon's Landing Inn :D
I'm 31yrs old, and looking to meet other gamer's in this area, and maybe get some gaming going on :) I'm primarily involved with online gaming via Fantasy Grounds (and work for a company called Digital Adventures producing content for FG), tho I would love to get back into a more "live" game :)
Systems of choice for me are Savage Worlds, 7th Sea, Scion or WoW RPG, tho I'm willing to try pretty much anything :)
Anyhow, feel free to contact me either on the boards, or thru email...or pop on over to my website at http://www.kalanskorner.co.uk
Take care all, and see ya'll around :)

Bud, you are 4329 miles from me.
Are you into chat games? 'Cause I don't think I have an extra room for you to stay in at the moment.

I'm working with Farcaster to set up an on line game here. Hopefully we can get it started soon.

An online game of what variety?

D&D (3.5), in Forgotten Realms. Probably Calimshan, but not related to NWN.

There will be no Kender, but you may get the chance to kill Jar Jar Binks.

Anyway I'll be running it, so it will probably suck.
But you're welcome to join regardless.

PBEM? Or Text Chat?
And I know you said No to a few of my above queries. But how would you handle character sheets, maps, and dice? And so on.

I'm hoping that farcaster can make a folder here for the game, and it would be play by post.
I'd prefer getting a Word version of a character sheet emailed to me, that seems to be easiest.
I should be able to link to maps as long as I can draw them and upload to a server.
Regarding dice, it would be players' honor.
But I'm new to this, I'll listen to suggestions before completely ignoring them.

Ed,
I'd totally recommend using one of these remote RP support programs.

Maybe Farcaster can host something along those lines. And there are some of these program types that are free, they just need a host computer/web site.
Or, go MUD/MUX/MOO for flow and you can even get someone to code dice and stuff for it.

Thanks Moritz, I'll look into them. To be honest I'm not the most computer savvy guy out there, and anything new just intimidates the hell out of me. I don't want my lack of understanding to prevent the game from happening or to push it back a month or more. I'd like to start with Word character sheets, player dice rolls, and text descriptive maps. If I can figure out how to run those programs, I may incorporate them. Heck, I still haven't been able to figure how to set up an account and upload images to the net. I'm that "computer dense".

As a shameless self-promo, check out the game thread that was just started in the Play by Post folder (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=69).
