November 7, 2012: Prepping For BoardGameGeekCon (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/a/2012-11-07)

With October over, it's time to turn our attention to November and the annual fun known as BoardGameGeekCon (http://boardgamegeek.com/bggcon). Each year for the past five years I've rushed off to Dallas for a weekend of gaming, but this year, I'm not going to get to go. We will have a full team there, however, at the con's new location at DFW Airport.

To prepare for the convention we're reviewing our selection of Munchkin (http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/) promo goodies, deciding on exactly which games we want to offer for sale at the show, and making sure that our Castellan (http://www.sjgames.com/castellan/) demo sets are ready for action. We will very likely have early copies of Dino Hunt Dice (http://www.sjgames.com/dice/dinohunt/) for sale, and we'll be stocked with the newest Cthulhu Dice (http://www.sjgames.com/dice/cthulhudice/) (and, fingers crossed, the latest printing of Zombie Dice (http://www.sjgames.com/dice/zombiedice/)). Ogre (http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/) fans will want to stop and get a look at the latest game prototypes and play a game or two with our full-size mockup components.

Hopefully, I'll get the chance to go next year! If you're at the con, drop by and say hi!

Warehouse 23 (http://www.warehouse23.com/) News: "Moderation? I'll Take As Much Of That As You Got!"

Some people will tell you that you can have too much of a good thing. These people are not to be listened to. Instead, push your combat to the outer edges of so-called "good sense" by using the rules found in GURPS Mass Combat (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-0131), available from e23 (http://e23.sjgames.com/). Remember, it's not a good time until 30,000 dudes with pointy sticks are shouting at each other from across a valley somewhere.
