Of the profile fields on the Pen & Paper Games registry, which three do you view as the most important to determining if the group or player is compatible? Are there other quantifiable qualities that you would like to see on member profiles?

For me, Playing style and prefered Genres are the most important. For an inperson game, Distance is very important also.

The whole list is a good set of parameters, but those are the ones I think are most important.

After that, its more meeting and seeing if you click.

1) Which type of RPG the person is interested in.

2) Where they live.

3) Personality and Interests, but that must be observed.

The Three most important Things in a gaming group, for me are

1) Distance between members, This makes getting togeather easier.

2) Types of RPGs or Genres preferred. I love fantasy, so I might not enjoy Space adventures as much.

3) And group cooperation. It only takes One bad player, to ruin a game. As i have recenly found out. (just for referance not you Cyrus ;)

Thanks, I thought that there was a very good dynamic between most of us. I like Jazmin, but as DM you need to recognize and work to resolve potential problems quickly. I may try to put together an on-line game.

Yeah I agree, I talked to The DM and it was decided to try to fix our current problem. If you get a group togeather and its online let me know. I'm Game.

I'm going to have to say roleplaying style (combat v roleplay) is most important to me. it really can ruin a game if you're in a group you just don't click with.
and since i only own a scooter and not a car, distance (or lack thereof) is a pretty valuable asset.
Genre runs a far third place because i'm pretty open as long as its a fun game, and I'm always up for things i've never done before.

1. Distance - the D/FW metroplex is huge
2. Style - I'm totally not interested in playing with rules lawyers
3. Age - more maturity, because age doesn't always determine how adult you are
4. Availability - getting groups together is becoming more of a hassle than it's worth.

Age is a huge issue for me; while it may be fun to run a game for young'uns just getting into the hobby, you run a totally different game for that sort than if you're running a game for your peers.

How about 'Frequency of Bathing'?
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly
- I'm French

This field will mostly affect LARPers, but some table top gamers may not be able to select either of the top three choices.

Wow i didn't know which answer to laugh the hardest at out of the last three.

For me. Hmm...

1) Game setting

2) Availability

3) Experience/age

Thats about it. I guess I have been fortunate enough to have pretty decent players. We all get along quite nicely!

This is one of the reasons I stopped going to cons back in 90. That and you could yell out, "Look, Dr Who is over there." and there would be a herd of people under 5'5" and over 300lbs wearing 14 foot long scarfs running that way.

I tried LARPing on four separate occasions. My regular group thought it sucked, and the other three groups were dominated by people I had very little in common with. I've gamed with people who were not physically attractive, but they were clean, had employable skills, interesting personalities, and were able to attract potential mates. There is no excuse for not keeping yourself clean, or becoming a game cultist who can't function in reality.

Damn it! I guess I need to rethink my whole life then. :p Who needs reality anyway? Reality sucks! Just look at all those "Reality" TV shows. Tell me which one of those doesn't suck.

Reality TV is as fake as Paris Hilton with a B cup.

When relating conversation to breast size, I prefer the term, artificially enhanced over fake, but that's a personal view.

Course, I don't watch reality TV either so...

If you're watching reality TV on HD would that be concidered artificially enhanced?

My, my, my. From player profiles to breasts. Oh, how we digress.

Moritz

Sweet, include Breast Size on the player profiles! That should probably go on the poll too. I'll bet it'll beat out Distance to Member.

Wow, there's a few puns in that sentence.

You'd think the realization that there's actually a real live girl would make every boy here jump up and down and want to comment. But nooooooooo. :)

Mainly cause the first thought going thourgh our minds probably weren't the cleanest. :p Or like me didn't read the thread till about 10 minutes ago. ;)

A size much in demand at the table I'm sure. :D

Now back to the OP:

Distance / Availibility / Game looking for
are the 3 most important to me as far as group joining.

Yeah, I was really wondering why the thread died. My assessment was that all the nerds were like, "Oh god, there's a girl in here with us. Shhhhh, don't say anything, we'll sound really stupid." Then someone pipes up, "Yeah,, heh, a B cup, that's Beavis and Butthead sorta hawt. heh, heh, heh."

:D
Love ya guys.

I thought rule #1 of the internet stated: There are no real girls on the internet. I think we will need pictorial proof of this alleged B cup.

I hate to generalize, but many of the female gamers I have encountered are flighty, shallow, and somewhat irritating. I wonder why they game. The last two in my Wednesday group, a D and a C who left due to inter-party dating conflicts, I am glad to see go. There are a few 'true gamer chicks' who are amazingly sexy no-nonsense fun to be around hotness.

Rule #2, all girl characters are actually 13-15 year old boys or men over the age of 35 who still live in their mom's basement and are wanting a lesbian experience - until proven otherwise.

I know two people (in my local gaming circle) who play nothing but female characters on CoH and NWN. Both have children and I wonder what their kids think about daddy dressing up like a girl.

Grimwell

I'll tell you why: In most online games you are looking at your avatars arse while you play... I'm much more interested in female arse.

My girls just think that the girls in daddy's games are pretty. :)

Moritz

So Grimwell, I'll ask this all in good fun. Just razzin ya.

Do you dress in women's clothing and turn your backside to a mirror to look at it?

And then of course every other guy who is pretending to be a girl is gonna hit on you for a lesbian experience. While all the guys that are dressed as guys trick themselves into thinking that you're a real girl and they'll flirt with you trying to get a little cyber action.

Whoops, my bad. Every girl you ever meet online is really a hawt stripper or porn star just killing some extra time between sets. :)
