View Full Version : Starting a Call of Cthulhu Modern scenario [set up phase]

Hi, I´m looking to try your boards for a CoC session. I have run the scenario on another site and it was a hassle to use an off board roller. I tried out a Spanish sit that had an integrated roller but that was a bit of a roundabout way to get happy.
So, this site seems to be a good fit. In English, with integrated roller. Great!
Now, how do I go about creating a forum? I guess I need to contact a mod.
All help will be appreciated.

Jay sneaks up to the shed and waits for the other team members to come after him.
Dice rolls:deSyrinx rolls some dice Sneak = 45%
Is there a way to use spoiler tags to let the dice rolls remain hidden by default?

Well, I can't help, because I am very new to this site. However, I am interested in playing Call. If you are going to set up a game, please let me know. I am new to CoC, but I have played several other D20 types, with my favorite being D20 moderns. Would also like to know a generally setting/corebooks to be used in this game.

I´ve started the game over at Obsidian Portal. http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/antarctica-1983
Two players are active. We are 45 posts in-game, meaning it´s just started.
A team of four from Station 10 return from a two month vacation. The Station looks the same as always
when they arrive. But is it?
As they exit the helicopter, the pilot asks about a shipment going the other way. It turns out that two body bags
are being flown off base to McMurdo.
As the four get up to speed of what have been happening, the station chef, Arthur Ward goes outside in the Arctic weather
ending up in a mishap and gets chilled. He is currently in infirmary.
The NPC-list has viable picks as your character.

Hi. I'm new to CoC as well, but am interested in playing. When and how do you play on line? I have played quite a bit of d&d but nothing else.

in my experience the when is anytime. You´re not bound to play at the same time as the rest of the group, as in RL-table top gaming.
Where? You just need a forum. Register and ask someone who is running a game to join.
My game is at http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/antarctica-1983
I use Call of Cthulhu rules in a modern setting.
Usually rpg online takes much longer time than face to face rpg. You have to wait for all players to post actions and such.
But if you´re in no hurry, it´s a good substitute for a "real" gaming group.
You are welcome to sign up at Obsidian Portal and join my game.
