Check out this new article from the Daily Illuminator that Steve Jackson Games posted:
January 19, 2012: Freebie Jeebies! (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/archives.html?m=January&y=2012&d=19)
http://www.sjgames.com/munchkin/epic/img/cover_sm.jpg (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-2011)

We were poking the sales numbers on e23 (http://e23.sjgames.com/) the other day, and we saw something interesting. We've always known that freebies (http://e23.sjgames.com/samples.html) are popular among digital shoppers (the price is right!), but we noticed that every year there's a spike in downloads of Epic Munchkin (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-2011) just after Christmas, which continues into the new year.

I'm guessing this is because folks get new Munchkin (http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/) sets for the holidays, and they're looking for ideas of how to keep the fun going in a new and interesting way . . . and the Epic rules certainly qualify!

There's a smaller end-of-year spike with other e23 freebies, including GURPS Lite (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-0004), the Munchkin Tournament Rules (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-2013), and the Ars Magica 4th Edition Core Rulebook (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=AG0204) (possibly because folks are trying out their new iPads (http://www.sjgames.com/ill/a/2010-12-05) or other PDF-reading gizmos), but nothing like Epic Munchkin.

If you're testing your own gadgety gift or otherwise want to discover how quick and easy it is to shop at e23 (http://e23.sjgames.com/), you can't go wrong with checking our select list of samples (http://e23.sjgames.com/samples.html) or our complete collection of all free items (http://e23.sjgames.com/search.html?price_lo=0&price_hi=0) currently available. And if you haven't done so already, get online and get Epic (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-2011) -- a jillion other Munchkins can't be wrong!
