After breaking for 2 years following the birth of my son it is past time to hit the adventures again. This restart takes place after the previous epic and will consist of a more modular campaign. While it is one consistent timeline the individual adventures will be completed in 1-3 game sessions ideally and intended to be classic styled romps.

The game itself is a three way joining of first edition, second edition and my own home brew additions. It is a well rounded campaign with more of a role-play base than dice management, but not short on combat.

I have played and DM'd since the early 80ís. After Gary Gygax died, I decided it was time to rekindle the torch, break out the books and play again. The last D&D game I ran lasted for five years, only ending because I moved away from the East coast.

To honor Gary, we are playing in The World of Greyhawk setting. But it is a custom campaign that is not based on published modules.

Each player should play a character race and class of their choosing that really resonates with them, not what the group "needs" or might be "missing" from a typical party make up. I scale and tailor things to meet the needs of the group.

My games are mature in nature, and tend to test the psychological fortitude of the characters and the players as well. Evil is intelligent and typically not something easily vanquished the first time around. All is never what it seems with danger and or shock and surprise is discovered in the least likely of places.

The campaign has a site on Obsidian Portal: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/ad-d-greyhawk-homebrew

Dave,
I saw this post and saw that you run a bi-weekly game. What day do you game on and what are the hours? I am currently in a 2nd ed game with two other players and are looking to join a group. Thanks,

When do you plan on playing? If you have room I'd like to join. I do have a question though, what exactly is from 1e and what's from 2e? Each edition has things I like and don't like, I'm curious as to what's in and what's not.

We have not picked a day yet, we're still gathering players and will be deciding the game day that works best for everyone. The initial thinking is a weekday evening. Monday and Thursday have already been squashed, leaving Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday so far as potential days. We would probably start around 5pm I am guessing currently.

We want to get started by the end of the month I believe. Feel free to email me: dave at amascus dot com.

I agree and I try to use the bits that I like from both. At the end of the day it comes down to what is best for the story and simplicity of playing. I'm going to be adding the homebrew rules to the campaign's OP wiki (http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ad-d-greyhawk-homebrew/wikis/main-page) and have already added the character creation details. I'll be chucking a link for the character sheets this week as well on there.

I would be interested in joining. I've played both D&D versions (although 1st. edition more). One quick question..... No Halflings!?!
