Ive recently developed a PVP (Player VS Player) quick play pen and paper game called "Kill". The basis is simple, you went to sleep one night like you usually do every night, but when you wake up, your somewhere else and are told by a note attached to you that in order to survive, you will have to kill everyone else you see.

Originally developed for people who want to RP badly but might not have a whole lot of time to do so, this game has gotten high marks with my play testers and is a large group favorite.

Check it out at www.gaiasagaonline.com (http://www.gaiasagaonline.com) and see if you like it. The rules are short and sweet.

Does it work as a L.A.R.P.?

I guess if you just changed a few things around in the rules, sure, it can be used as a LARP. Ive never LARPED before to tell the truth, but I know how they operate and it doesnt seem like it would be too hard to convert.

bilros, be glad you've never LARPed before. It's Rock Paper Scissors meets Nursery School Play Pretend.

Now, your idea sounds vaguely familiar... what was the name of that movie, oh, "Gotcha!" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089222/
and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotcha!_(1985_film) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotcha%21_%281985_film%29)

lol

thats hilarious, its a simple storyline really, the main focal point isnt the story, its the PVP that takes place. I just needed some sort of background to make the game more interesting, instead of just telling you that you have to randomly run around and kill the other players.

Yep... Moritz nailed it. And add to the fact that few basement-dwelling LARPers have ever showered, or been capable of interacting with normal human beings outside of role playing.

But the idea of LARPers running around and killing each other does have some merit.

I would play a RPG where the PC's would hunt LARP'ers.....

I've never played in any LARPs, but quite a few of the LARPers that I've seen at the conventions I ref at would have me playing! Trust me on this!:p

Now if I can only find some pictures on the Internet of some of the women at the con! By the way, if you're wondering which convention I'm talking about, it's the Necronomic, http://www.stonehill.org/necro.htm convention put on by the Stone Hill Sci-Fi Association, http://www.stonehill.org/.

Speaking of conventions, any of you guys know how much entry is going to cost for Gencon this year? Last year was crazy...

The Gencon Star Wars Celebration, held out in Cali is $110 for adult pre-reg and $125 for on site. http://www.gencon.com/2007/swciv/registration/default.aspx

Oh and it's from May 25 - 28, unless you're a Fan Club Member and then you can get into a special event on the 24th.

Indy runs from August 16 - 19.

4 day badge is $65 for pre-reg and $75 at the door.

Oh and I can't find any of the photos that were online right after the Necro. I'll keep looking though.

I just don't see a point at tossing money to the wind in cons anymore. (though I've not been to one since 93). But my reasoning is this, what can you find at a con that you can't find on Ebay, from your local gaming store, amazon.com, torrents (not that i use them, that would be piracy, arrrrrg), your mom's basement, Simpsons' Comic Book Guy mail order, or etc. Plus, it cuts down on the offense of my nose having to smell b.o.

I personally like cons, granted as you've already stated, they aren't for everyone, but most of the cons I've been to, I don't get the stench of b.o.

Course, I don't ride the elevator with random gamers, so...:D

I like cons because they let me gather all of my friends and hang out together for a few days, and there is always quite a bit to do.

I'd play that game too... :D a cattle prod would provide some amusement as a weapon :3

It would be too easy though. Think about it. The geek larper's migratory patterns would show them up at some Dr Who convention wearing 14 foot long scarves making them easily identified where you could pick them off like buffalo.
