I've recently been blown away by a band called 'American War' and their album 'Rhetoric'.

It's a free MP3 download, but there is a donate button if you like it.

Check it out here (http://www.ifyoumakeit.com/album/american-war/rhetoric/)

I'm also into Ella Edmondson (http://www.myspace.com/ellaedmondson), Mumford & Sons (http://www.mumfordandsons.com/) & Seth Lakeman (http://www.sethlakeman.co.uk/).

How about you lot - what are you listening to?

Actually, some folks do play music at their gaming sessions. Wether for background sound or actual in game action. By chance, maybe someone will find something that they can use for their game.

Background music usually puts me off my gaming.

Background music usually puts me off my gaming.

When it comes to "busy" music (rock, jazz, classical, etc.) I completely agree, it's too distracting for me and my players. With a few exceptions, the only music I can tolerate in-game is ambient; it's relatively minimal and quiet enough to not be intrusive but is still capable of enhancing the atmosphere without being intrusive. Some of my gaming staples are Brian Eno's Ambient 4: On Land, Lustmord's Heresy (good for ruins) and pretty much anything by Robert Rich, Tuu, Oophoi, or Rapoon.
