Hello all! I recently wrote an article on collecting and paining miniatures, and would love for you all to read it (http://www.brighthub.com/video-games/social/articles/90639.aspx). Please feel free to comment on it, and add information I didn't include! (There was a lot that I couldn't include!)

Uh.. "All to read it" is a hyper link up there... But it's tough to see... so here's the full link: http://www.brighthub.com/video-games/social/articles/90639.aspx

Followed the link and enjoyed the read. Pretty much agreed with everything there, except I would not recommend anyone buy cheap brushes. Cheap brushes shed a hair at the exact worst possible moment and can and do ruin many a paint job. They also tend to have bristles sticking out at odd angles, dragging a fresh color onto an already finished area. They also don't hold their shape, and it is hard to paint well when your brush is fighting you the whole time. I am sure there are many a frustrated former minis painter who gave up simply because the brush defeated him/her, and not because they couldn't paint better. Problem is, they would never know this because they just didn't know any better. Yeah, I would say, buy good brushes and give yourself a chance to do a good job, rather than buying crappy brushes and guarantee yourself a crappy job.

Yep, it's worth dropping $8 on a kolinski sable brush. I prefer Raphael, but there's lots of good brands out there.
