Hey folks. I am curious as to what elements are/should be expected in a play by post game.

I consider myself a reasonably competent DM/GM. However, I want to provide a game/service in a play by post format.

What elements should be included?

Example -- I want to start a campaign at level 2. What should I plan? (I am a hyper-planning DM most of the time) -- what elements/information should I provide in advance?

my best advice is to look at the unquiet lands pbp game on this site. I love how Umiushi runs the game.

Wow. I have been reading over it a lot. Thank you for the recommendation. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Especially pay attention to his posting schedules, guidelines, and his "layout". I think that is what makes the game last and what keeps it going and what makes it interesting. I especially like the combat summaries he does as it helps everyone keep tabs on what is going on.
