Find a ship, find a job, keep flying. Lots of folks live that life, some by need, some by choice, hell even by birth. The Sullivan's lived it for years; long before people started throwing around words like "browncoat" and "purplebelly" and they'll be doing it long after.
Least that's the way it was till they responded to a distress call out on the rim, turned out to be a reaver trap. Those that escaped with their lives were lucky. After that near thing most of the survivors decided to quit the spacer game for life dirtside. But Patrick and Molly, well they got a bit to much of the black in 'em. So they'll fix up the ship, find her a new crew, and keep flying.
A very fine hat is a new game by a rookie GM. It takes the standard slightly unscrupulous ship's crew concept and hopefully works it into something good. We so far have a companion and a tong enforcer plus the two NPCs mentioned in the blurb. We have a page over at http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/a-very-fine-hat if anyone wants to take a look see.
The game is going to be run on maptools. It'll be greenhorn level and feature premade adventures at first then more custom events later on. Time yet to be determined.

Around what time are you looking to play? Also, would you be willing to take on someone who doesn't know the system too well yet?

Well the time and day hasn't been settled on yet but I was thinking around 7ish est on some day other than Tuesday. And yes being well versed on the system isn't required. One of my players whipped up a framework for maptools that handles a lot of the fiddly bits so as long as you know the basics there shouldn't be a problem.

Edit: Make that Wed or Thurs. Just talked to one of my other players.
