OMG (http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2010/05/30/36920-guillermo-del-toro-departs-the-hobbit/).

What is going to happen next? Who will take the director's chair? del Toro and Jackson were the only two directors in my book that could adequately do what Jackson did. Don't freak out when I say that Sam Raimi is also a plausible option, as he has extensive experience filming in New Zealand. His light-hearted action style could work for the Hobbit.

This came as a shock, as originally the filming was to begin this month. Financial troubles suck. Crazy times.

And just earlier this weekend there was a yahoo thing about wherever or not we might get to see this film.

It is looking unlikely now, unless another new director takes it on. I was really looking forward to eventually seeing this film, but it seems a lot of things at the moment may cause it not to come to us.

They should get Michael Bay to do it. Then we could have the Hobbit with car chases and EXPLOSIONS!

:D
