Ok in the Jedi acadamy training book it talks about a cross guard saber. What I am faling to find is the exact bonus to blocks.

On my excel character sheet is says this:
Ignore DR; -2 to Use the Force to Deflect; Block imposes -2 cumulative penalty, self-built (-2 penalty for targets to Block)

This particular build uses a Compressed crystal.

The way I read this
The character would have a -2 to deflect.
Instead of a -5 per block they have a -2.
Targets would get a -2 to block the character.

Where can I find it in the books?

I think you are missing the continuation of the weapons description on page 53. top of the first column!

Basically you only take a -2 penalty on successive Block attempts but you incur a -2 penalty to UtF when using Deflect. That -2 will stack with all your successive Deflect attempts, making your first one a -7, etc...

Cool for melee'rs!

Edit - So basically you have it correct. With the compressed crystal the opponents then suffer a -2 on their Block attempts against your character.

Wow that was embarassing.

I shouldn't look at strange hours of the night reading a glossy book under a light with a glare.
