Catalyst launches electronic fiction line; Shadowrun titles released! (http://www.shadowrun4.com/wordpress/2010/05/catalyst-launches-electronic-fiction-line-shadowrun-titles-released/)

With tens of millions of iPhones, iPads, Kindles, and what not out there, the market for electronic books is expanding. Catalyst Game Labs is jumping head-first into this market, and as part of the launch of the new fiction line, we are releasing electronic versions of four classic Shadowrun novels.

Whenever Shadowrun fans talk about the best fiction ever written for the Sixth World, one name comes up time and time again: Nigel Findley. Before his untimely death in 1995, Findley wrote four novels that established him as the master of Shadowrun action. We are proud and very excited to release electronic versions of his four novels. You can get them in Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=Shadowrun+ebooks&x=0&y=0) versions or in ePub (http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=28_222)versions from Battleshop. This means that pretty much anyone that can read books on a handheld device can use these files.

What are Findley’s books about? Happy you asked!

2XS (ePub (http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_222&products_id=2472), Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/Shadowrun-2XS-ebook/dp/B003K16OKQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1272913867&sr=1-3)): Accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Private Detective Dirk Montgomery knows the only way to clear his name is to uncover the truth. When the clues lead to an illegal simsense chip called 2XS and a mysterious organization called the Universal Brotherhood, Montgomery uncovers a web of deceit more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Shadowplay (ePub (http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_222&products_id=2473), Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/Shadowrun-Shadowplay-ebook/dp/B003K16OPG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1272913867&sr=1-5)): Veteran shadowrunner Sly just needed one big score before she could retire. What she found was a piece of paydata so hot it could bring down the Corporate Court. With the help of Falcon, a street kid with a destiny, Sly has to avert a deadly corporate war—and avoid getting killed in the process.

Lone Wolf (ePub (http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_222&products_id=2474), Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/Shadowrun-Lone-Wolf-ebook/dp/B003K16NFW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1272913867&sr=1-4)): Lone Star Security officer Rick Larson is working undercover to take down a rising street gang. When a chance meeting blows his cover, both the operation and his life are in danger. As Larson attempts to extract himself, he stumbles upon a conspiracy that lands him in unfamiliar territory—the wrong side of the law.

House of the Sun (ePub (http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_222&products_id=2475), Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/Shadowrun-House-Sun-ebook/dp/B003K16N8Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1272913867&sr=1-2)): Private Detective Dirk Montgomery, following his adventures in 2XS, swore he’d take it easy after his last run, but a courier job to Hawai’i thrusts him into the middle of a clash between warring political factions. Swept up by the conflict, Dirk soon discovers that the true powers behind the struggle are more ancient—and evil—than he could have imagined.

Maybe you’ve just read over all those titles and thought, “Hmm, they all sound good to me!” Well, you’re in luck, because we’re also releasing a special Omnibus edition of all four titles. For $11.99, you can pick up all four Findley classics. Like the other books, the Omnibus is available in ePub (http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_222&products_id=2476) and Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/Shadowrun-Nigel-Findley-Omnibus-ebook/dp/B003K16OHE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1272913867&sr=1-1) versions.

While the Findley novels are great, I know there has been a craving for new Shadowrun fiction. The electronic fiction line is going to cover that, too! Keep an eye out this month for the new short fiction anthology Spells & Chrome!
