Hi all.

I keep role playing journals of the games I've run scattered online. I think the addresses are in my signature but I'll post them here too.

Most recently, I've been playing in a Call of Cthulhu game taking place during WWI. Eric ran his WWI game again this past weekend and the terror continued, this time at an abandoned French Mansion. The journal entry can be found here:

http://www.yog-sothoth.com/modules.php?name=Journal&file=search&bywhat=aid&exact=1&forwhat=Max_Writer

A few things to note. This is my first major sanity loss for my character (and the first for me for playing ever as I usually am Keeper). Chararacters are:

Captain Christopher Reed, MD (me)
Lt. Anton Kemps
Eloise Smith - Volunteer ambulance driver
Nurse Felicity Adkins
Private Harold Olver
Corporal William Grimm
Jean Pierre Valois - reporter

The other location are for the rest of my journals and they are here:

http://blog.myspace.com/max_writer

These are in reverse order (for the most part). The Call of Cthulhu ones are in the correct order but you will have to put in "see all journal entries" to see all of them (there are more than the original 20).

Don't know if anyone is interested or not but if you decide to read them, I hope you enjoy them.

I'll post here as I post them.

I've had a somewhat on again/off again situation with my journals. Usually life jumps in the way of me keeping up on a regular basis, but for my current game, ran a bunch of one shot adventures until this month, had the first adventure in the campaign on June 5th, I'm endeavoring to make sure to write a journal for each game session.

Course even if I don't keep up with all of my journals, I do create websites for each of my games, the links are listed below.

Current...

Most recent...

http://www.johnprime.com/logos/wizard_quest.jpg (http://www.johnprime.com/wizard_quest/)

My post apoc site, had a PC writing journals on it. I really need to work on an update for the site as I'm changing game systems for the game even though I'm not currently running it...

http://www.johnprime.com/logos/valley_logo.jpg (http://www.johnprime.com/valley/index2.php)

This site is one of my sci-fi game sites, no journals on it, and I'm in the process of redesign...

SKUNK! - I hope you are having as much fun with wierd west settings as i am. I am in the process of character making for mine after getting the setting (1875 Wyoming territory) fleshed out.

I've said it before i will again.. i now use Obsidian Portal for my campaign logs... works awesome! Makes journaling much easier.

Yeah, it's been fun so far, even with the one-shots. Good thing is my players do plenty of things to get themselves in trouble, whether from the law or not, they're always causing problems so I've got no problems coming up with things for them to do!

I've always considered campaign logs/journals to be stupid and of no use. When I wrap up a session, no matter how long it's been, I remember EXACTLY what was going on and what had been resolved or left hanging... and I mean ANY amount of time, whether it's a day or well over 15 years (for a continued campaign a while back).

And then I started with my present group. One of the guys is an extremely anal retentive log keeper...

And I've found that he writes crap down that I completely forgot. Sure, it MIGHT be stupid and unimportant, but, on the other hand, it may not be!!

I won't do it - but I no longer scoff at those that do.

I finished the write up for the Megatraveller and Adventures in the New World GURPS games this weekend and have posted them in my facebook notes and here:

The GURPS game is before the Megatraveller game (as that game came first) so I apologize for any confusion. There are several entries for each on MySpace and a single one for New World and two for Megatraveller on FaceBook.

This is a very fun read, Max. I feel like I'm reading another "Lovecraftian" novel. I really like how the GM incorporated the mythos into our modern religion/culture. It seems to me that Lovecraft would have appreciated that.

Max,
You're blog reflects and actual game? I've just scratched the surface. I no longer need to go to the library. I might have to drive down to Raleigh!

Max_Writer

Yes. All of these are from actual game-play and as accurate as I could make them with what happened at the table (aside from sometimes cleaning up dialogue a little bit so it makes actual sense in some cases). I also sometimes summarize or cut the boring, redundant, or irrelevant dialogue.

I've audio-recorded the games since about a year ago (maybe earlier) and I try to keep most of the details in (especially the role-playing). Before that, I taped (at least) the main conversations that took place in the game.

I run Delta Green tonight and play in a Call of Cthulhu game Sunday btw. So look for more entries soon.

I just looked at the Delta Green site. Very cool! I didn't even know it existed. Cthulhu's come a long way. I remember picking up the boxed set back in 87 in Monterey, CA. I felt very quite proud of myself that I even knew who Lovecraft was. Most of my peers didn't. I couldn't get too many people into it at the time. I used the system to play movie horror type games. Michael Myers was one of the nemeses that the characters encountered. They liked it but I never really got to enjoy the Lovecraftian part of it.

I ran a one-shot Call of Cthulhu game over Skype for some friends who really wanted to play. It was kind of an experiment as I'd never run a game online before. We played "The Last Voyage of the Ivory Pride," a scenario I found online and printed out years ago (and I don't think is available anymore) and didn't finish so we have to figure out when the next session will be. Hello sir,

Would you be interested in running my RPG with your friends and then tell me what you and they thought of it? I upload a new adventure to Phase One: The Test each month. This will give me about 6 years to complete those uploads.

On February 27, I ran the original scenario "NIGHT WITCHES: The Sosnovka Raid" at the Appalachian State University Game Club Game Fest and LAN Party. The Call of Cthulhu scenario documented what happened to six female Soviet aviators of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment (composed entirely of women) on Dec. 5, 1942, when they bombed a German supply depot in the village of Sosnovka in the Caucasus Mountains during World War II. Something terrible was released at about the same time the bombs were dropped and the women found their planes downed in the town.

In January, 1603, London is in the grip of a bitterly cold winter. The air is crisp with a heavy frost that is slow to thaw. Rumors abound that the plague is once more abroad in the city. Numerous houses have already been boarded up and people have again taken to the slaughter of stray dogs, wearing too-strong perfume, and applying arsenic under their armpits. The Pest House is filling and deaths are on the rise. Queen Elizabeth is unwell and wil probably die before the spring. Everyone is wary of others and foreigners certainly are carriers. Stranger events are also on the rise. Can the investigators deal with a possible grave threat to London and the British crown?

On May 22, I started the Elizabethan scenario "The King of Shreds and Patches" with my regular group. We didn't finish and should have a second session soon.

January 1603. Still investigating the seemingly unconnected deaths of playwright John Croft and a young girl visiting London from Amsterdam, the investigators have uncovered clues leading to a plot to murder William Shakespeare as well as connections between the two earlier deaths. Can they protect Shakespeare? How are the deaths connected with the fragments of a play by Christopher Marlowe called "The King in Yellowe" and Hastur? What is Dr. John Dee's connection? Who is Joseph Barker?

On June 5, I ran the conclusion of the scenario "The King of Shreds and Patches" with my group.

With proof of the carnival's misdeeds, Providence Police could finally orchestrate a raid to remove the criminal elements of the place. Allied with the Providence County Sheriff's Department, Pawtucket Police, and the Rhode Island State Police, a daring raid was set for the early morning hours of the very next day. Several of the investigators who had helped save the two kidnap victims were brought along to advise police, but a force of over 100 men was set to raid the carnival and bring it down.

On June 23, 2017, a massive evacuation of the eastern seaboard of the United States created a great deal of havoc as some kind of toxic substance was released, allegedly by the Russians, that caused people to sicken and then die, then rise from the dead and try to kill and eat the living. In November 1971, a group of people boarded a Learjet bound for Kansas City, Missouri, for a seminar, having been sent by the company they worked for. Unfortunately, this was no simple flight, but a trip into the unknown that would leave all of them terrified of the Fear Jet.

It's time for a return to Elizabethan (well, technically Jacobian) London and the Globe Theater. This time, a stagehand has gone missing from the Globe and his wife demands someone find him. A small group of stagehand, musician, and actor, along with a local physician and banker go in search of the errant Clancy Bottom, only to find themselves drawn into a strange plot that might see the destruction of the Globe itself, if not of all England.

It's 1692 and a strange pall hangs over Port Royal, Jamaica. The primary English colony in the Caribbean is seeing strange times when odd signs appear all over the town. Something is very wrong and can a few pirates and townsfolk figure it out before it's too late, or is the "the wickedest City on Earth" doomed?

When a lawyer in Bristol, Connecticut, asks a small group of people to investigate a house in Sandisfield, Massashusetts, assessing the valuables there, it seems like an easy way to make some money. But there is something more to this case of declaring a man legally dead. Something is terribly wrong at this house.

On September 17, I ran a small group of mixed regular players and new players in my first 7th Edition game of Call of Cthulhu. The 1920s game (and possible short campaign) started with the scenario "The Inheritance" from the monograph Horror Stories from the Red Room.
