Heads up to the folks in DFW!
The Schola Saint George school for chivalric arts has a new-ish training facility on Irving Blvd in downtown Dallas where they are teaching many different styles of medieval martial arts. I've just started taking classes in sword in two hands and am planning on joining the rapier class when it starts up in April. Russ and Brian have been teaching us from the translations of the 15th century manuscripts of Fiore dei Liberi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiore_dei_Liberi).
Classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. First class is free and there is a floor fee of $55 a month for as many classes as you want to attend (or $150 for 3 months). No equipment is required for beginner's classes. They advise that you wear flat-soled shoes that don't have a lot of rubber grip. Further information can be found at the Schola Saint George website (http://www.scholasaintgeorge.org/joomla/index.php) or the DFW group's meetup site (http://www.meetup.com/DFW-Schola-Saint-George-Medieval-Renaissance-Swordsmanship/). Those interested in purchasing period appropriate equipment as well as training materials can find them at www.revival.us (http://www.revival.us)
