This month Pen & Paper Games will be hosting our first ever live chat events. To kick things off, we will be hosting a live chat event with Crafty Games (http://www.crafty-games.com/) on Saturday, October 17th from 10am - 12 noon Pacific Time. So, come join us for a meet-and-greet / Q&A session with Patrick Kapera and Alex Flagg, the creators of Spycraft and the popular new Fantasy Craft (http://www.crafty-games.com/product_catalog/fantasycraft) system.

About Crafty Games
Crafty Games was founded in 2005 but its roots date back to 2002, with the release of the award-winning Spycraft RPG (now referred to as Classic Spycraft). Alderac Entertainment Group gave three ambitious lunatics with keyboards and a dream the chance to produce a d20-based espionage roleplaying game and the world was never the same. Blending elegant, balanced rules with thrilling, original settings, Spycraft and its many derivatives landed on the gaming scene like a neutron bomb. Sales charts burst into flames, players took to the streets with graffiti campaigns to spread the word, and the designers were pelted with ridiculous gilded awards in the shape of Ursula Andress in that awesome bikini from Dr. No. Well, that last part might be a bit of an exaggeration, but so far no one’s disproved it in a court of law so we’re sticking to the facts as we know them. Shortly after the release of the game’s second edition, Spycraft 2.0, AEG discontinued most of its RPG lines. This left Spycraft without a home and gave its creators an opportunity to steal it away and make with the happy, happy fun time (read: global domination). Back room deals were brokered and sacrifices were made, and here we are: a band of merry maniacs and a growing army of the coolest, most dedicated fans in the biz, scheming from the shadows. The Blueprint for Tomorrow (tm) (http://www.crafty-games.com/product_catalog/newreleases) is here and soon, yes, very soon, there will be trembling. Could be the world, or more likely us, but trembling will be had. And it will be mighty indeed.

Accessing the Chat Room
If you've never visited our online chat-room before, accessing the chat room is easy. If you already have a P&PG account, all you need to do is sign in as normal and then click on the "Chat" button at the top right hand side of the page. If you don't have an account yet, you will need to set one up before you will be able to login. Once you're logged in, the chat functions are fairly intuitive. If you want to get a feel for it, the chat room is always open, so you can check it out at any time in advance of the event: http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/misc.php?do=flashchat

Bummer, I will be at work when this is going on. Just about every Saturday, I work 6 AM to 2:30 PM Eastern time. When our tabletop group meets on Saturdays, I usually go straight from work to it, which is the case for this Saturday the 17th. Maybe I will get to be on for the next event. :(

CP,

I'm in the process of setting up the next chat event which looks like it will occur on Tuesday, October 27th at 6PM Pacific Time. Maybe you can make that one.

I'll be at a play test for an in-person indie RPG. That a viable excuse to miss out?

Doesn't help with the interactive portion of it but we just confirmed with Farcaster this morning that he'll be preparing a transcription of our chat, so at least you'll be able to read through.

Oh cool . Yeah, won't be the same as being on the chat while it is happening live, but still will be nice to check out a transcript from the event.
