Greetings!

We are about to start a new D&D campaign, set in the world of Birthright, which is in many ways analogous to medieval/Renaissance Europe. We will be using the 3.5 ruleset, maybe with some variant rules from Trailblazer and/or Pathfinder.

The world of Birthright. Where gods died and kings now rule with divine powers. Where dark powers contaminate flesh and blood, and evil shows its true visage in abominations that stalk the land. Where monarchs both pure and corrupt clash over rulership of Cerilia, the main continent of the Birthright world.

The continent of Cerilia is home to the five great human nations: the Anuirean (analogous to 13th Century France/England), the Brecht (Renaissance Italy/Germany), the Khinasi (medieval Arabia), the Rjurik (dark age Nordic countries) and the Vos (dark age Slavic countries). It is also home to other civilized races: the enterprising dwarves, the reclusive elves, and the goblinoid hordes.

In this campaign, all of the player characters will have the "birthright", also referred to as being "blooded", which means each of them will be semi-immortal (somewhat like the heroes and villains in the Highlander movies and TV series). They are all 3rd or 4th generation direct descendants of the Champions of Mount Deismaar. (Hundreds of years ago, those champions were imbued with divine/infernal powers and pitted against each other on a final battlefield, to decide the fate of the world.)

It will be the overarching campaign goal for the player characters to seek out and confront the awnsheghlien, blooded abominations who themselves are descendants of those divine/infernal-powered champions, and who have become powerful despots and villainous malcontents.

Furthermore, the player characters will be exploring some of the ruins of the Old Anuirean Empire, which was analogous to the Roman Empire. (And, like that empire, became corrupt and over-reaching, and ultimately collapsed and was sundered, plunging the world into the Dark Ages.)

The player characters will start the campaign at 6th level. Using the "point buy" method to generate ability scores, each player will have a whopping 40 (!) points to spend, to reflect their empowered heritage. (Other special rules will apply to the player characters, empowering and enhancing them in other ways.)

Hey are you guys still looking for more? If the map is right I live about 2 blocks away. I have only played 4e and am interested to see what 3.5 is like and am looking for ideas on how to put more role playing into my 4e games. Let me know if you still have space.
