What movies are coming out that may be of interest to us?

rylie mentioned "Gamer (http://www.moviefone.com/movie/gamer/30168/main)" out in September, which looks like a cool movie.

Gamer sounds good to me

Gamer, yeah. Just saw District 9. there was one preview my wife and I both went...YES, but I can't for the life of me remember what the heck it was.

Wow, I have not seen a thing on 'Gamer' but from the web page put up by Ron, I'm game (pardon the pun). As always though, I work every other weekend and at this point I don't know my schedule - so it will depend on that.

Oh good lord, I still can't remember what darned movie that was.

Sept. is looking a bit bleak.

My list for sept is..

http://www.apple.com/trailers/focus_features/9/ yeah, I know Tim Burton.

and of course any movie with the song with elo's Mr. blue sky in it http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/theinventionoflying/ has got to be good. "Do we have time to get to a hotel?"

I have to say, I haven't heard of any of those movies (which just goes to show you I don't pay enough attention). And since I don't have quicktime, I'll have to go poke around on IMDB.com and take a look at 'em. I figured Gamer or District 9 (if it's still showing) might be a good idea.

Keep in mind, there's "9" and then there's "District 9" - two completely different movies. I'm kinda leaning towards "Gamers" or "9" myself. Either one of them would work for me (Not really interested in District 9).

District 9 was suprisingly good. Broke alot of molds.

There's a movie coming out called Whiteout or something to that effect. Previews don't give much but i am hopeful that it will give me some ideas on a game i am putting together. I can easily adapt my preferred genre to it no matter what.

Anybody here do the friday midnight movies at the inwood? For the most part they play good classic/cult movies. This week it's "shaun of the dead" i think.

Hey, there. I do. Occasionally, that is. From time to time, they have great stuff.

My favorite late night cinema comes by way Dallas Cinemania Film Society, which screens rare print cult classics one Thursday each month (or thereabouts).

The next one up is Dario Argento's DEEP RED (http://www.dallascinemania.com/), just in time for Halloween on Thursday Oct. 29. I dunno about you guys, but I'm not missing this one.

As we're narrowing this down we need to pick a day. Should we shoot for the 13th or the 20th of September? (Both are Sundays)

I just caught this quicktime trailer posted over at the Victoriana forums. I don't know if this film is going to hit Dallas by September, but if/when it does come, I want to see it.

Gamer on 9/20

I'm interested in 9, but not so much District 9, and not interested in Gamer at all.

Right then. If there are no objections then we can safely say this month's movie will be on Sunday, September 20th, twilight showing... we'll be able to tell the exact time a few days before the show.

"9" appears to be the most agreable, so if there are no significant objections then we'll see "9 (http://www.filminfocus.com/focusfeatures/film/9/)" .

The Regal Keystone Park theater has worked out for us so far, and if there are no significant objections then we can show up to 13933 N. Central Expressway Dallas, TX 75243.

Fandago (http://www.fandango.com/regalkeystoneparkstadium16_aacvq/theaterpage) link.

Did I miss anything?

I'm in.

Fortunately this does happen to fall on a day that I'm off call. But it's been crazy over here since my move to Fort Worth. So I'm not sure at this point if I'll be able to make it. I'll just have to wait and see how things go.

I'm in :) I'll bring me trusty camera, too.

You guys should come to Miami and see 9 with me.

9 was an excellent movie. I'm still not sure how much I like the ending, but it was entertaining.

On another note, as far as the day of this movie event, I had not realized it was the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. And I live right down the street!

Well, we had a smaller group this month, but it was still a fun time :). I'll get the picture of us up tonight. I've been thinking we ought to start up threads for the meetups through the rest of the year so we can get some healthy voting on what wants to be seen. I'll try and scrounge around for October and November, but I think Avatar would be a pretty solid choice for December's movie. Not ... that I'm biased or anything :).

Sorry I missed it, I was not fealing well at all on Sunday.
