If you have been gnawing at your fingernails, waiting anxiously for more information on the new Pathfinder RPG (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG) coming out next month (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1601251505?ie=UTF8&tag=penandpaperga-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1601251505), I have great news for you. P&PG will be doing an early preview of the final core rulebook coming up next week. My D&D group "graciously," agreed to help me showcase the new Pathfinder system and the notes from our first session will be up on Monday, August 2nd. So ... as they say, stay tuned!

For now, I can tell you that at 575 pages, weighing in at 1.7 pounds, you definitely can knock someone out cold with this book!

I can't wait to pick up my copy. I was going to pre-order the new Wolfenstein game but at 575 pages I'll be too busy to enjoy it.

I am so excited about the release of the Core Rulebook, and the progression of Paizo since their decision not to go to 4th edition D&D. The fact that they are selling the PDF version of this 575 book for $10.00 means they are dedicated towards getting this book into the hands of as many gamers as they can, and that will mean a ton of exposure for their adventure paths and campaign setting in Pathfinder Chronicles. A lot of the content of these core rules was created with the help of gamers and supporters on Paizo's forums, with countless hours of playtesting discussion, suggestions on rules, and player & DM input that Paizo actually listened to and incorporated into their game. They have truly been a gaming company for the people!!

Go Pathfinder!! :first:

The $10 pdf sound sweet financially. But unfortunately for my wallet i'm the kinda guy who likes having the book. I'll be getting the hardback for sure!

WOOHOO! Can't wait for this book! Pathfinder Beta is awesome in itself. The real thing should be even better! :)

I definitely like the Pathfinder beta better than I ever did like 3.5, though I prefer 4E to Pathfinder... I'm interested to see how it goes though. Being that cheap, I may have to pick it up just to have it.

I'm sorry about that. Last week's heat wave here in the Pacific NW put me a little behind schedule. I'm working on the initial review now and I hope to have it up for your reading pleasure very soon!

This is Kurt Weigel's (Game Geeks) video review from youtube.

He's not the best reviewer in the world but he is occasionally funny.
