It's an adventure in itself! I have one that a friend let me borrow awhile ago but I have been dreading the day that he will ask for it back. I have been to Half Priced Books (They have alot of v.1's), a gameshop that's a decent ride away and I've called and looked up Barnes & Nobles and Borders. I'm going to call all the other Half Priced Books stores and ask around but I may be forced into buying online and waiting. *Sigh*

might want to check gatorgames.com. Local game store does lots of online business with older product.

You might also want to check out the new Pathfinder RPG (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1601251505?ie=UTF8&tag=penandpaperga-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1601251505) that is coming out in August that is an expansion off the 3.5 rules by Paizo.

Although Wizards of the Coast abandoned 3rd edition in favor of their new 4th edition, Paizo (and other publishers) are continuing to publish materials for the 3rd edition system. Pathfinder RPG is an updated Players / Dungeon Masters guide for 3.5e. You can read more about it here: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG

Oh alright, is it gonna be available pretty openly like around book stores and stuff? Is it already out?

Why not try Ebay?

Cuz I wanna just go buy it. I don't like going through the process of buying online much. I wonder if the gameshop would order it...

How back-compatible is Pathfinder if the rest of your party is using 3.5? Cuz the most experienced and knowledgable player in our group doesn't want to go buy all new books if I get it. I forsee myself being forced into online buying... :smow:

Pathfinder is reasonably back compatible. I have the beta book right now some changes which can be handled easily in my opinion. The book is due out aug 13 hefty price tag of $50 for hardbound.

Pathfinder is a good way to go. A little overpowered for my tastes. If you have plenty of internet access, just go to D20srd.org. It has open game license PHB, DMG, and MM. And more.

Alright I'll check it out if I can't find one

Go to abebooks.com. Some of the best and cheapest books you'll ever find. I've gotten many 3.5 books from them and have had no trouble at all.

Overpowered? Take another look at the level XP progresion and say that again ;)

The price tag is not so hefty when you consider you are actually getting two books in one, both the PHB and the DMG.

right now pathfinder has three different level progressions for fast, normal and slow. the slow is more like 2nd edition progression. You can choose how fast you work up levels. interesting idea

Touche' Cigam. A 20th level character in Pathfinder looks to be about 100th level in D&D, if they collect the same amount of XPs. Does Pathfinder have a more generous XP reward system, or do all characters die from old-age or attrition at 8th level?

:nerd:

Don't get me wrong there is lots I like about Pathfinder but that was my biggest beef. I was stunned when I saw the XP page and realized after playing Pathfinder for about 6 game nights we were only halfway to leveling up. :(

I won't ending up getting it because it's like $80 but the special edition 3.5 is so awesome looking!!! It's way better than what the 4E special edition looks like.

wow, but I know myself and I dnt know how long a soft cover will last with me. I got the book in my cart but I still got like 10 more dollars or so, what should I get? I'm thinking about getting one of those expansion books like Tome and Blood or something. Or a DM screen

I asked my friends who I play with and they said minis so I'm just looking for a bunch of useful minis that are pretty cheap
