To all of you who attended our Apirl 1st Login event, you have been given a free level. And, to be completely fair, you've been given whatever amount of experience you needed to get from the beginning of your current level to the next no matter how far you were into your level at the time. So, some of you may even be close to leveling up again.

The final tally of attendees to our P&PG login event on April 1st was a total of 307 members - including me, but I was already level 30, so :p

Thanks again all for coming out!

You know... now that I have seen the final number, I almost want to give you guys the custom title "The 300+" instead of "P&PG Denial of Service Crew." What do you think?

heh. that would be amusing. ^^ if you made it 300 +7, i would read that as a magic item of some kind. wasn't it more of a db crash in any case? we should be the database destroyers! ooh! contest for the best custom title! with votes! and a massive poll! (or submission via email if there are too many for a poll. )

Yay dings! I kinda like The 300 (+7) for a custom title :)

also, is the 307 with or without visitors? Because the 430 includes visitors right?

But to be clear, I like the 300+7 title.

The 307 number does not include guests. I don't know how many guests there were at that time. Before the crash, there was something like another 70 guests online. I do think we would have made it if MySQL hadn't fritzed out.

Cool a title! We made a good run at breaking that record. Glad to have found this site, met some good people and have had a good time trying to find games with in driving distance.(That is the real challenge is it not?)

Yes, it was great to see all those members on the site at the same time. Looking forward to the next big meeting.

Perhaps it could be an annual thing? That way we aren't crashing the site on purpose more than once a year. ;)

The Annual PnP crash party?

I'm looking for the next get-together. I was a lot of fun. I'm also looking forward to busting our current record.

While I like the idea of it being an annual event, the only reason I missed it is because I was at work on the evening of April 1st and our internet settings do not allow message boards :(

AAAnyway, go with 4/1/10!!!

We'll need a better server.

I have faith. Now that the bugs are worked out, things will go along smoothly.

I don't complain about the place. It runs smoother than many an other forum I have encountered. The interface is the best I have encountered. Over all, PnP is as seamless as a forum gets.

If the host has some upgrades we might manage it.

I would like to thank everyone who made this award possible.

Douglas Engelbart for inventing the mouse. Without it I would not want to use a computer.

Robert Maurer, Donald Keck and Peter Schultz (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/../inventors/blfiberoptics.htm#inventors) for inventing Fiber optics. The internet would suck without it.

And of course Al Gore for inventing the internet..... or at least making us laugh.

If all the bugs are worked out, I wouldn't mind trying it again sooner...like perhaps in July, maybe?

HOOOOOOORAAAAY FOR SUGGESTION OF JULY!!!!! I created my account a week after the last one :(

the current title works, but i'm with some other folks here.... lets do it again soon and see if we can push it another few. I'm not interested in a free level personally, i just want to see if we can get it higher. Also, i've seen people coordinate like A-L first half of time slot and M-Z later, try and spread the load out over the time frame.

Panthro82

I think we should try it sooner because the one in April would have succeeded if the server didn't crash. Now that the kinks are worked out and we have seen an influx of members joining lets break the record in July! Do you guys really want the sour taste of defeat in your mouths for an entire year!?!?!?!

Also Valdar, there was an experience change on the site and that is why you un-dinged a few levels. People no longer receive points for replies to threads they created.

Nice, will my new level help get players?

Panthro82

the levels essentially are worthless lol. All they do is fuel competitive people(like myself) and show how much you participate on the site.

Yep, received notice of 3 games within 10 miles of me, one of them a wickedly cool idea for an Underdark/Drow/Dwarf/Other, campaign. Check it out: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/mazroc

I was surprised to find that our local chain of comic book stores, Lone Star Comics, or at least the clerk at the Arlington store, was unaware of this site. So I told him to put the word out. There are a lot of gamers that meet there. He in fact was looking for a place to find gamers for his group. Odd huh? I'm sure the vast majority of these new users have to do with the merger. But I'm hoping that getting the word out to the people who sell RPGs will have an effect as well.

Panthro82
06-27-2009, 06:08 PM
yea most of us do that in every state. this site has been expanding rapidly even right before the joining of forces
