@jpatterson: Thank you very much for your advice. Yes, I've looked through the locator and the games I've found either don't fit my interest or are several years old. I figured it might not be a bad idea to advertise directly myself as a player, since my name has been in the database for some...

With a surprised look on his face, Wrenwil stood there a moment, holding this rare and battered tome in his left hand. With his right, he slid fingers beneath his tattered linen overgarments, to his belt and pouch. Checking that nobody else was paying him too much attention, he slipped out five...

If you haven't, check out the Play Locator section and the LFG, etc, type posts, that might find people you're looking for, in your area. I don't know specifically of highly public games running right at the moment but you can never tell! Best of luck to you.

Results of Skill Check_______________________________________ You sense no trickery afoot here. Ordechai apparently has no idea how much the tome might actually be worth. But of course value is always relative to the beholder. Besides, according to him he's been carrying it for months and...

Hi, It has been awhile since I have done any roleplaying and I'm interested in finding a game that meets weekly or every other week on average. I like games where story arc and character development is something the GM and players are interested in. Fighting and treasure hunting is ok too,...

Ordechai: Shrugs "In all honesty I probably exaggerated when I said I gave the blind beggar a berelle of my finest Tejj... it was above average at best." He chuckles. "I'll sell the tome to you for for five gold pieces. At least than I won't be taking a loss. Is that agreeable?" He asks

Did they provide a better backup than what I provided? Hmmm. Regardless I'll probably look over the html and page formats, then determine what needs to be ripped out and update links or combine them into a single page layout for each thread. Really not sure how we'll do attachments or images...

woohoo backup! Had a look, nice, it's really kind of them to provide this for us. It is definitely workable data, nothing to worry about. I've been fiddling with MW quite a lot... and find that although a fairly simple interface, it can be made to do the job well. In particular I like the:...

I've actually personally never used it. I've been of the mind that the "in person" games were dying out in favor of play-by-chat. Technology making it relatively easier for people to make games happen with NPC and map generators and not having to work out transportation for folks or feeding a horde...

Depends on the formatting used. saved as html everything will be tags like <b>bold</b>, so those are easy enough to convert to say BBcode. As for OP it would be *bold* instead. Using regex would do the job with some intelligent work. As for spamming, you probably wouldn't spam, but it would...

Yeah I dunno how we need to format it for easy upload to another forum? I've never tried that before. I'm pretty sure that sort of thing would be under administrator purview because it could easily be considered 'flooding' or 'spamming' to post a new thread with hundreds of posts from another...

Well I can write a script to strip out unneeded formatting and extra garbage, and turn it into entries to go into a Database, or another forum for posting with formatting that's appropriate, or as text files... The zip/7z file is a quick easy backup in case the site suddenly goes down or we lose...

The inscription in the tome provokes a powerful compulsion to imagine a dark fantasy. Something ambitious, yet evil, like a throne of skulls made from your enemies. For an instant you want to believe the tome can make such a wish come true. Thankfully you realize you did not beckon those dark...
