You can safely assume that I don't. Athletics is really a combination of strength-to-weight ratio, coordination, timing, spatial awareness and agility. Lack of any of those can be a reason for a miserable failure. Simplification to strength is strange. I am strong, but to get near athletic...

This is the sixty-third main post for Worm Delve. Players' posts in either thread are due by 11 pm, Tuesday, January 27th. The next main post will appear by 11 pm, Thursday, January 29th. Before the party gets too wrapped up in complicated logistics, I should observe that unless the mark for...

Palp as for using dex for jumping in D&D, well that is a subject near to my heart as I play mostly finesse based characters in most versions of D&D. Though in 4e, the very un-dex based Cleric and Paladins have been my character of choose until they finally published the Assassin, which is again...

"That mark is for oil," Yrisz says before Noxias can, as she holds up her torch to see better. "I'm rather sure Derim and you will be able to find something creative to do with that much oil," she says looking back towards the grave spearman. "If all that wine has spoiled then perhaps we...

Hi All, I've just caught up and realized that Girl B's player wasn't horribly missed, thankfully. During the finishing touches of 'fixing' my computer I managed to nuke everything to hell, and I also figured out that most of my OS are now under supported by Apple and Microsoft, so re-installing...

With about six hours to go in the players' posting period, I'd like to note that since Derim's objection to the eastern passage is very clear and specific, unless I get more information to the contrary, the party's going to start by going down the northern route. In case you're tempted to bring...

Pacifist ideals - and games - work okay until you run into that one butt-head that doesn't wanna be peaceful and WANTS to fight. It may be a TV show, but I keep thinking of Kung Fu - Cain really wanted to live a peaceful life, but kept running into bad guys that just insisted that they needed to...

"(Pacifism) is unrealistic and undoable in a game." Sign of the times, huh? The question, to me, is how does the GM keep things interesting? I've thought about a pacifist Skyrim game, but I'm not sure that it's possible. I feel like half of the quests require the death of a creature, even if...

So I have a confession to make. I've played iron claw but its not my favorite system. I'm not a big fan of heavy reliance on just dice. I prefer a system with lots of progression room. And a balance between randomness and set values.

Rogur has exhausted his knowledge but if any other character wants to have a go at identifying the second glyph, it can be done with a DC 15 History Check, or DC 10 for Yrisz. Also, I see Noxias is for and Derim is against entering the eastern passageway. Please settle on the rest of the...

I have this D20 Modern game I've written over the last year or so and I'd like to find some people interested in playing it. It is short enough that it could be run in one or two sessions, or it could also go on for 5 or 6, depending on how much you chew the scenery. I ran it once before and I've...

"Just some sour wine that smells of your breath," Rogur calls back down. "But hang on a moment." He looks more carefully at the amphora in his hand and sees a small glyph. The seal comes off and Rogur takes a sniff. The seal wasn't good enough, or the clay too porous. The vinegary tang of spoiled wine assails him, with decidedly unpleasant background scents of yeast and cooked cabbage.
